Intensity Athletics is doing a "Bring it On" theme and has new uniforms to match for their non tumbling 6 - they were the gym that had the half black and half white uniforms last year, really entertaining to watch.

That’s cute. I didn’t know you could have different unis on the floor for the same team (outside of coed teams).

Question though: in my day, borrowing choreo from a movie/music video was kind of frowned upon, I guess because it wasn’t “creative” enough. Do people still care about that or no?

ETA: not saying the use of Bring It On choreo isn’t cute up above. It is. And I like the way they made the two groups play off each other. It’s just something that wouldn’t have been done when I was young so I was curious if there was still a stigma attached or if people have loosened up a bit.

Have to give it to Rebel and CA Plano, those youth and senior uniforms looked incredible yesterday. The youth especially, adorable, appropriate and just the right amount of bling. If I had received that uniform I would be over the moon.

This is just plain inappropriate.

I have to wonder what the gym owner was thinking when they sat down with Rebel and decided this is the look they wanted for their gym.

I think it might be a case of “looks better in theory than it does in practice.”

Idk anything about their routine, but I see a superhero vibe a la last year’s Reckless uni. If that’s the case, the shoulders looking like a cape is draped over them is kind of cool. And I like that pleated skirts are making a comeback.

But those donut arm straps are going to muddle the choreo instead of enhance it. And are they connected to a sheer sleeve or just hanging there like loose construction paper chains? I’m not being snarky; that’s a serious question. I want to know how it hangs on a hanger.

Usually I can understand where a design is coming from even if the execution falls short, but I’m a little lost here. I think this is an instance of prioritizing how a uni photographs over how it functions. Because I can’t see how it would enhance a routine.

ETA: is the tiara part of it?

The arms are an accident waiting to happen I don’t think they are connected with mesh at all. Personally I’m more upset by the unconnected straps under the bottom of the top that looks mysteriously similar to a shirt I often went clubbing in when I was in college. IMO if I can make that association with a uni meant for teenagers there is an issue.

YES!!! Are you talking about the half tops with six feet of cords on either side that you wrapped around your waist so your abs could look like bread baked around twine? Ah, the early aughts. What a stupid, stupid time to be alive and trendy.
