All the buckles and loops make me nervous.
I wasn't a huge fan of the tie last year, and I definitely don't like it this year. I think the uniform would look better without it.

But overall, its not too bad!

The silhouette is okay. Flattering.

The buckles look like they would pinch. And I can’t tell how much dangly stuff is happening, but as usual I don’t like it.

I understand they wanted something on the neckline, but I don’t think the tie is it. Give them a little choker and call it a day.

Also it seems like an opportunity lost that they didn’t give them badges with nicknames a la TGLC. Unless they did and I didn’t see it.

Overall it’s fine. Could lend itself a bit more to athleticism — which I think the TGLC uni did well — but very on brand for TG.

These aren't uniforms anymore. They're costumes.
Also I'm so over the over-dramatized uniform reveals. Doesn't make it any better that Instagram doesn't have an audio controller of some sort (seriously, why????).

And can we STOP with single season uniforms? It's so wasteful.

I like the idea of a themed uni, but I think the challenge is to still have it look like a cheer uni that can still stand on its own. Some college dance team did this really awhile back. They did a 20’s-themed song/pom routine, so the uni had an old-fashioned look that matched the music perfectly. But it still made sense on the sidelines as uni with a vintage/throwback look to it. Very thoughtful. Very timeless.

I think the trick is not to lean too far in one direction or another.

All that said, wastefulness is still another issue. Coming from a program that reuses comp unis for AT LEAST five years, the thought of sinking thousands into new unis every year blows my mind.

Parents don’t sink thousands into the uniforms, they are rented out from the gym which is why they were able to wear the uniform from 2014 at Jamfest.

Regarding theme uniforms if the parents and kids aren’t complaining then there is no need for me to complain about where the money goes. This is also not the first time a gym has had themed routines and uniforms to go along with them. Cheer Savannah with their themes which in my opinion was way worse then any of the TG uniforms and Georgia with there wedding theme and I can’t remember the other theme.
