i mean i dont blame them. You cant expect people to sit in the house all day, every day, for weeks on end. Im only day 3 into my work being shut down and im already over it, i still went to the store, took my son to the park, etc.

I feel for the parents of young kids with no where to go!!! I am so bored can’t imagine having little ones to entertain.

Mine aren’t that little but they still get really wild & bored if they’re inside too much. We go outside in the backyard, walk around the neighborhood and go to parks & trails if not busy and we don’t get close to people.

Spirit Spectacular is having a virtual comp. Teams submit any video performance from the year for some judges and results are hosted online live.

I think this might be what we’re looking at for Worlds this year. I don’t hate it given the circumstances. However I think it’s important to preserve the “live” element somehow because everyone could read the writing in the wall if it was just the best versions of everyone’s routines being scored.

At this point, most gyms (assuming they are following CDC guidelines) won’t be practicing thru at least the end of March and I think signs point to even longer so a virtual comp really isn’t realistic unless you happened to have a video already [emoji2372] Its unfortunate but sadly I think the rest of this season is a wash.

Varsity is really reaching with this one:

The longer they take to rip the band aid off, the worst the backlash they’re going to get when they inevitably are going to have to cancel the rest of the season.

Some gyms are already out of practice/going to be out of practice for weeks!! And having to wait to see “how the situation plays out” to confirm new dates is going to force parents to make last minute bookings for flights and accommodation. It’s going to cost a lot for families who may already be struggling with the slow down in the economy.

They’re talking about rescheduling for July even though members of some teams might be graduated/moved already. I think they’ll offer the kids something. How sound/valid it’ll be is TBD.

I understand they are throwing it out there just don’t agree with it. I know it’s terrible for kids who it’s their last year and that makes me heart broken for them but I think it’s time to just move on and have gyms create new teams in May and focus on the 20/21 season. As a year round sport, extending a season isn’t really practical there are only 12 months in a year [emoji23]

That’s not really a competition if any video from the year is submitted......

Regulating this RESCHEDULED THING would be a 3 ring circus.

You could say "Compete IN JUNE with the roster you had as of OG WORLDS DATE date in 19/20 season."

Then here comes Tiny Gym Senior 6 saying "NO FAIR ALL THOSE KIDS HAVE MOVED TO THEIR COLLEGE TOWNS AND WE DON'T EVEN HAVE XS6 ANYMORE."

Here goes Unicorn Elite 6 like "WE AGED OUT 4 OF OUR STRONGEST BASES AND HALF OUR TEAM IS NEWLY AGED UP FROM J6 NO FAIR."

Then here comes Mega Gym Large Coed with 3/4s of their team super senioring like "I FAIL TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS HERE. TOTALLY FAIR."

Then if you flip it and say "Okay compete IN JUNE with the roster you have now as of June 1st."

Tiny Gym says "WAIT WE WE JUST HAD EVALS 3 WEEKS AGO WHAT."

Unicorn Elite says "HALF OUR TEAM WILL BE ON VACAY."

Mega Gym Large Coed with early choreo says "SAY NO MORE WE GOT THIS."

How about they send the judges to them to be judged live or video taped by the "authorized" camera person provided by the EP? Schedule the date and time and you only have that one 2:30 to perform it. No do overs unless there was some type of technical difficulty with their equipment ;) Or they have to submit the video from the competition where they won their bid.

You mean the videos from the comps where you're not allowed to take videos???

The solution isn't that complicated guys, just have all new World's unis be modelled after this bad boy:

Protective, affordable, looks great on all body types. Plus it's bra friendly and has no crazy cut outs. What's not to love? Throw a bow on that head and slip some Nfinities on over the feet and boom. Good to go to World's.

There is absolutely no where in the USASF guidelines that says you can't wear this on the mat.
