was that an official announcement from Varsity? That they’re cancelling uniform fittings?
Yes- for the most part... they can not meet with students on or off property for fittings.... they did provide a lot of directive on the e mail on how to go about sizing and submitting orders. I’m sure a lot of it has to do with protecting the health of their reps and ensuring they don’t go against and district protocols... there will be hick ups nonetheless. I can’t imagine some coaches/advisors trying to nail down their kids sizing (no experience fitting kids) without some major errors.
Bill Seely just sent out a video as well.
I know this may be an unpopular opinion but THAT MAN actually seems to care and I felt the video came off as compassionate and concerned however optimistic. I once had a question pertaining to the CA no Sunday ruling and he PERSONALLY responded to my e mail. This is the President of a HUGE company taking the time to respond ...no robotic auto letter, no passing it off to some secretary -that said a lot to me...

Thank you so much for that information. Unfortunately, our school fired the head coach a few days before next year’s tryout information meeting. (And the entire school district has been shut down due to Corona virus policy.) So none of us parents have any information about what Varsity is saying to teams regarding uniforms or camps. Did he say anything about a timeline?

Of course! And no, nothing on timeline-

We were told that we are still planning on going to camp at end of May. Varsity is only cancelling activities through May 10 so ours is still scheduled and payment for camp is still due next week.

Unbelievable. Not sure who I’m more annoyed with.

Wha?! Mmm-Kay
We are effectively switching to home camps first week of Aug
2 days for JV -Aug
3 Days for Sideline -Aug
4 Days for comp -Aug
4 Days of choreo for our comp team -end of Aug
This year is not normal, no sense in trying to treat it like it’s normal ... because it’s not, however going to try to give my kids the BEST experience possible in the most responsible and well thought out time frame I can.

We've received multiple emails letting us know deadlines for payments are not being enforced at this time, and it won't risk the status of your camp reservation. I would hold off on payment for as long as possible. Maybe do a PO proof of funds, and wait until the week before, when you know its a go to mail in payment. At this point, staff training is on hold too, so not sure who's even supposed to be working these camps that early.

Thanks for the info. Actually it’s our coach that’s requiring payment next week. I hope she will just hold onto it. It will be such a hassle if it is cancelled.

Oh, makes sense. I would feel more comfortable paying the school. I thought it was the team payment to UCA. I will say I've only had great experiences with UCA regarding refunds though. We've needed them many times over the years, and they've always been super easy to work with and fast in processing them.

Has Varsity said anything about uniforms? What is the usual production schedule? Last year ours were ordered in mid May and delivered in late July. Is that pretty typical?

That is very lucky in my experience.

Once this is over, I expect all uniform companies to be completely overwhelmed and backed up with orders. What a mess.

Varsity's main staff is probably having to work from home, or not at all. We're under a stay at home order, and I don't think they qualify as essential. (Their main office is only about a mile from my house).
