As much as CU can be really annoying:

Being upset at CU for posting this = shooting the messenger.

The message would still hurt even if it came from a coach, owner, etc. tomorrow morning. No matter who they find out from, it would still sting.
It wasnt a matter of who said it, its the fact that everyone was told not to say something, he deliberately went against those orders, and then the second he gets criticisim for it he says "someone was going to spill it anyway for attention so why shouldnt I post it?". Then he deletes it. It's the principle of it. He knew he wasnt supposed to post it and did it anyways. Then he ran away when he got caught.

For a "business" account, he's wildly unprofessional and entitled and pulls stupid, childish shenanigans more times than I care to remember. He does not have many friends on here.

"He doesn't want anons to gain attention for breaking news in the cheer world, when they destroy people in the very next breath"

Phew.... Someone sure does need to take a hard look in the mirror, for a person who blocks and argues with people who dont agree with him, writes supposed "tell all's"... And started off as a foul mouthed anon himself....
I wonder how many people he has had to block in the past hour.... Probably a lot...

Yeah if you’re going to post something like that you have to be ready to double down, right or wrong. Otherwise you just look spineless. And this was not the issue to try that with. It wasn’t like he was trying to do the right thing by people. He just wanted clicks.

Unless there was to be a huge coordinated effort by gym owners, coaches, parents and athletes for all to communicate this message at the same time across the country/world.....kids would have read this on social media. The moment one gym communicated the decision to their athletes and they all took to their social media accounts...Twitter, Insta, SnapChat, FB...and others.....athletes from other programs would have seen the posts around their disappointment. There is no way to have prevented athletes who all have social media to make sure each athlete was told in the "proper way". CU was just the messenger of the information......how everyone found out, I am not sure is the issue here....the issue is that a decision was FINALLY made and everyone is no longer in that world of uncertainty and they can all move forward.

That's fair. Like I said, he is nobody's favorite but welp, unfortunately he does not follow rules, so it is out.

I think people are less mad about how it came out and more just directing their sadness/grief about the season at him because there is NO person to be mad at.

You can't direct anger at COVID so you just direct it at CU for announcing it.

A big issue is that many teams cant even go to their gyms to practice, and there are some regions where that won't be possible for even several more weeks. So for teams to be able to be "Worlds ready" in just a couple weeks after months off is not practical, and not really safe either.

We did a virtual Competition- not varsity. Each team submitted their best performance and was rescored by The judging panel. Awards were posted live. It was a fun way to end our season.

Now that Worlds is canceled and the 2019-2020 season is officially over what do evaluations look like for 2021?
With gyms closed how can Suzy take 5 privates a week trying to throw skills she doesn’t have to push up a level- Lol! This will be tough for gym owners this year. What do you think tryouts will be this year?
*note I’m in NJ and sure gyms will not be open for a long while*

It would have been completely different if an athlete blurted it out before other athletes found out.. The supposed memo said nothing about athletes staying hush hush. As someone who claims hes an industry leader and wants to be taken seriously, and wants people to give him insider information, but cant follow simple directions. He flat out said he wanted to beat anons to the news. I have no sympathy for the hate he is getting. Moral of the story is dont trust a person who's business is running a cheer twitter account....

I don't really understand how he now understands the reach of his platform. He has almost 200k followers on his twitter and on his website it literally says "how the world watches cheerleading." You can't have those numbers and make those claims and not think you have a wide reach.

I want to imagine the season will start later then it normally does, summer tryouts being pushed back. Or possibly teams forgoing early season comps and hoping to get bids late in the season. Possibly even less bids handed out if restrictions are still in place and comps not allowed to be held.

Exactly. No matter if this info was posted now or 12 hours from now, most people will learn of it from social media before they hear from their coaches and gym owners. This decision has been dragged out long enough-- someone, ANYONE finally needed to announce it was canceled. I don't know how CU received the info, but if a mass email went out to a bunch of people, it wouldn't be realistic to expect everyone to keep it a secret. Once the info is out, it's out. The whole reason why people use Twitter is because they want attention, and being the first to break news is one way of getting attention.

Programs pay him to post to his platform for them and he’s going to try and say he didn’t understand the reach?
It’s not about canceling the event. Hell, it’s not about it coming out on social media. It’s about WHO let it come out and deliberately so. It is just wrong.
