Well that was rude as hell.

And from what I gather, cheerlebrities are celebrated because they’re good. Even the one who got famous because of her meme — not her skills — turned out to be one of the most talented cheerlebrities out there. So IDK what that’s even about.

What is this “helping” the sport and “inspiring”’others? That’s a lofty responsibility to put on teens who just signed up to cheer.

And yeah they probably wouldn’t be famous if social media wasn’t around. But it is, so they are. What’s her point? That’s like saying Victor Rosario wouldn’t have a successful gym if he sucked at cheer. It’s probably true, but that’s not the case. So why even bother with that completely useless hypothetical?

Miserable people are exhausting.

Tye is a guy, was an incredible tumbler. Not sure what he is doing these days and that post is old. Probably pre KP and RC days.

I gathered it was an old post, but I never would’ve guessed he was an accomplished athlete with any sort of following. He comes off as very resentful.

I believe he is still coaching at CA Charlotte, at least that's where he was, actually have no idea anymore. He is probably my all time favorite cheerleader and is an absolute legend in cheer. While that post is very old, I still couldn't agree with it more. Definitely don't find it anywhere close to rude.

How old is that (original) post? That seems like it was forever ago when the "cheerlebrity" thing was different than what it somewhat is now. I'm not sure what the statute of limitations is on popular culture opinions, but we are likely well past that now.

Tye was one of, if not THE best tumblers ever in cheer. He was on teams and worked for us for a long time, but hasn't in a couple of years. He was in Cirque du Soleil for a while. He is (and should be) a legend.

I saw him land a quad on spring floor (!!!). That is one flip and 4 twists. I don't think there are many international elite gymnasts that can do that. I once asked him if he could do a RO FF, whip, full, double, triple (in a row, no skills between) and he landed it perfect the first time. His also had the best form of anyone doing upper-level elite skills.

Freely admit: no clue. I only started paying attention to AS cheer again in 2017, around when I joined the board. So recognising Santwon’s name in that guy’s post was a big deal for me yesterday lol.

I don’t keep up with him since he blocked me on Twitter a few years ago.

Tye Hill is arguably the first cheerlebrity. At the very least, he was among the very first. Pure athlete, amazing cheerleader. Honestly...his post was extremely true for the time period it was posted. Actually, still a little true today.

What were people doing that got such a strong response?
