Speaking of cheerleb IG’s, I’m just going to be frank: those accounts run by moms who clearly want their 12 y/o preteens to hurry up and become legal already so they can be bankable sex symbols creep me the hell out.

It actually really, really bothers me. These moms who want their preteens to be sexy twenty-somethings are really sketchy. They buy their kids hair extensions (which only serve to make them look older). They take b/w sexyface beach pics of their tweens like they’re in a Chris Isaac video. They post bikini pic sponcon where their daughters are pulling scorpions for some reason. You can sell swimwear without a scorpion. So what’s the point? The people who mostly see those pics — the fans — already know they can pull scorpions. So who are those pics for? The pervs? Because I guarantee that’s who’s looking at them. Often the daughters’ pics are all over those soft core “cheer” websites where they post little kid cheerleader/dancer/swimsuit pics next to chat bot ads. They’re tagged and everything, so the moms know that the pervs know where to find their daughters, and they don’t seem to mind. It makes my skin crawl.

I’m not some hyper-conservative pearl-clutcher who thinks girls shouldn’t be allowed to wear tank tops in public or whatever. I was a cheerleader/dancer in CA my whole life growing up; everything I wore was short/tight/sleeveless/a bikini. I’m not exactly a prude when it comes to clothes. So if I feel something is inappropriate, it usually is.

This 100%. As a parent of a 12 year old I just don’t get it.

The “account ran by mom ✨” instagrams should ALL be taken down imo (but to be fair- I also think baby accounts and dog accounts shouldn’t be a thing, especially the ones where the mom pretends she’s talking AS the baby or dog). But there’s one that especially bothers me. 5 years old with 20k followers. FIVE. Pretty sure she had the Instagram when she was 3.

Same. I've heard some Moms say "it's for the kid to look back on when they're older." The problem with that is its public. Even if it's private, it's still the internet, so it's still public. Why not have just printed photos in a book? Or an album on your phone? Pervs are a problem, but also with all the deep fakes and ai technology that is only getting better, more accessible and realistic, you're basically giving over your child's identity to be stolen in the easiest way.

I’m on a couple dance pages on Facebook and they are constantly having issues with pervs private messaging people, but the moms keep posting spread eagle pics of their kids in skimpy dance costumes. These are groups with many thousands of members. Just yesterday there was a big thing about someone posing as a costume buyer private messaging people for additional posed pics and asking them to change in and out of outfits on camera - and that’s just one of many creeps out there.

It’s the same with the young flyers on Instagram pulling scorpions in bikinis - like who is your target audience here? It’s the moms posting them, and they are set to public! They are crazy if they think pervs everywhere aren’t saving/sharing those pics.

I’ve gotten messages from pervs off a post selling my daughters uniform. I can’t imagine allowing her to have a public page and letting anyone see her images at any age.

Sometimes I feel like those moms know EXACTLY who they’re catering to and they’re fine with it as long as it gets them followers that land them in “influencer“ territory. I do not see how they can justify some of these pics if that’s not the reasoning behind it. I just don’t.

When you consider the reason that their kids have followings at all is because of their cheer backgrounds, it‘s strange when moms post pics that totally neglect showcasing their kids’ skills in favor of long body shots in bikinis. Even older cheerlebs who are more likely to flirt with posting “sexy” pics post less suggestive photos than these moms do of their literal children.

I'm really sorry this is off-topic. But I have been wondering since I joined the board. How do you start a thread? like when it says someone started the thread, how do you start it?

Go to the forum you want to post it in and on the right hand side there will be a button that says "Post New Thread".
