Forgive me if this was posted in another thread, but I saw that Varsity has posted their Varsity All Star Virtual Competition Series and FAQ. <Click Here>

Someone asked how the virtual comps would be viewed in another thread, per Varsity:

Varsity TV will host this event and one one-month subscription will be given to a coach of each registered team. All Varsity TV subscribers will be able to watch the event in its entirety. The awards will be FREE to all viewers on Varsity TV.

Teams will have a 6 day window to submit their video... So it will be possible to try lots of times to get the best hit. Not sure how I feel about that.

Ok guys. Everything was perfect except Suzy had bent legs in her BHS. Take 57!

Thank you for posting this. I don't love the 6 day window for best take. Also if you don't own synchronization rights there will be no sound when viewing.

But it is something. I still do not see real, in person events as feasible any time soon.

I believe I understand the reasons, but I do not like this aspect at all. I at least wish there was a more limited time window. You had a code they gave you that someone had to say or hold up in the background that changed periodically and you had a limited amount of time to upload screenshots and/or the video - or something similar.

Imagine golf with 25 mulligans on every hole. Completely different types of golfers (pure power vs accurate/consistent) would win and the strategy would totally change.

I admit to giggling a bit at the address...Varsity's main office is only about a mile from my house, and I'm picturing a bunch of teams standing on the lawn, stunting around the fountain....

I think a single take would be better, but given as many problems as this Spring's AP exams had, I can see where it might be hard to manage.

And it seems pretty obvious that everyone will get a regional summit At Large bid who wants one.

Can someone please clarify things for me? My daughter is going to be on a cheer abilities team that starts up again in a few weeks. Are there going to be any in person competitions this fall/winter? Or is it all virtual? I am not complaining either way. I just want to know so I can prepare her.
