Guess we need a thread for this now...

Senior Elite!

I usually love the multi-cam, but it's annoying for seeing the routine (any routine) for the first time through. Hard to fully appreciate!

I am interested in seeing if/how being virtual changes scoring and how/if it affects bids.

Like, if you have unlimited takes and opportunity record - then isn't every comp vid going to be your BEST recording?

And if everyone sends in their best - then everyone is going to get FEW or 0 deductions.

If everyone is hitting zero, bids/getting paid is going to get interesting.

Because at an actual comp you are one and done each day and you're at the mercy of how everyone's day 1 and 2 go.

You are pretty much submitting a hit zero or perfect routine every time now.

Such a strange time.

They look tired. Like this was the fifth full out because nobody’s hitting consistently. Or maybe because they’re not competing in front of the crowd they’re used to, which might be a problem for a team that thrives on audience response.

That said, nobody does pyramids like they do.

^^^^That's something I was curious about too!

How are coaches and teams scheduling this filming?

I know you have X days within a certain window to film and they send you a "code word" as proof that it was recorded within the timeframe (ex: if the comp is December 10th it needs filmed between 12/4-12/8.)

I could very easily see this becoming a situation where coaches are adding in extra practices and events for filming and unintentionally burning people out:

COACH:

"Okay guys the NCA window is coming so the schedule is

FRIDAY REGULAR PRACTICE: 12:30 - 2 (full out and we will be filming them)
SATURDAY EXTRA PRACTICE: 12:30 -2 (2-3 fullouts so bring water)

We are filming MONDAY in place of our normal practice so be here at 12:30 and we will be in the gym until we hit!"

I'd be interested in hearing how other gyms are scheduling filming and maintaining balance/not overdoing it? Has anyone in here had to film yet?

How are judges suppose to judge the routine when they can even see the whole floor? Its easy to hide a fall or mistake when the camera is pointed somewhere else. I wish it had to be a single full floor view.

I could be wrong but this video = JTV just filming at their fullout taping for YouTube.

This isn't the actual comp video submission sent to Varsity.

The actual comp video submission has to be a front view of whole floor and can't be edited.

Varsity will also be posting videos for free like a week after every comp (no sound.)

I was just thinking this. They have a full floor view... why aren't they required to use that the entire time?

This isn't the actual comp video submission sent to Varsity. I think this is just for their YT channel.

Looking at some random virtual comp vids, they are all front view.

Just watched c4 this year, and to be completely honest, I'm not impressed with them this season. That cea energy was just not present in see, c4, or ll routine from there virtual comp

Is that true about Varsity posting the vids for free? When does that start?
