College kids don't usually own their uniforms. They are given a bunch of warms ups and practice wear to keep but the school usually buys and retains the uniforms . In the past cp has both had school owned duffels and outerwear which she had to return, and her own backpack which they gave her. But she has never owned the uniforms.

True, but the athletes could always do what I did when I won nationals. I “lost” my uniform in Daytona and my program just made me pay the replacement fee to get a new one from Varsity.

Silly me after I paid the fee I found it back at home in a shadow box! I don’t know how I misplaced it when it was hanging on my wall, I’d lose my head if it wasn’t attached to my shoulders ;)

A lot of the graduating seniors “lost” their unis when we won lol

They had a .25 deduction, so could be that.

Generally speaking, if there’s an injury resulting from a tumble/stunt bust that’s so bad you have to stop the routine, do you incur the deduction that you normally would? Or does having to stop the routine change that? Like the situation is already so bad that they’ll let it slide? And if so, can/do people exploit that?

If the bust causes the injury, you get the deduction. If you get injured when you land, but then go down because of the injury, you do not get a deduction. It has to be a clear landing before you go down though to not count.

Well now LaDarius has made a bunch of statements about Navarro that allege hazing and inappropriate relationships between athletes and coaches. And while I am not dismissing the veracity of these claims, I do always wonder in incidents like these why nobody came forward earlier. There’s usually a reason behind the timing of these things.

Why can’t we have nice things.

It kind of burns my biscuit that folks get discredited because they have a mental illness a la the "isn't he bipolar? probably not telling the truth" comments.

With that being said, we learned from the Jerry Harris case that you don't know these folks/coaches/athletes just because you saw them on a show.

These are just allegations and tweets as of now but it repeatedly disturbs me to see how quickly folks will try to dismiss these things based on who these alleged problematic person is or what programs they represent.

Is everything always 100% true? No. But you always have to look at what someone has to gain or lose by making it up.

This is also not the first time allegations like this have been made about Navarro, if I remember correctly.

It’s so disappointing all the way around. Not only the allegations, but the way people are reacting to them. People’s claims should never be dismissed because of mental health issues or their behavior online. One has nothing to do with the other.

I think these claims should be investigated, but wish either LaDarius or any of the other people chiming in had come forward sooner if only because it could’ve stopped others from experiencing the same treatment. Not to mention, it’s much harder for a cause to be taken seriously if it appears that the victims only came forward when it was convenient for them. Shouldn’t be that way, but it is.

In sum: I’d just love one pop culture cheer thing that turns out not to be terrible.

hazing happens EVERYWHERE in every sport, so i would not be the least bit surprised if there is some truth to his claims. i mean big name programs should be very aware that the more successful you are the more people have eyes on you, the more people snoop, the more people talk.
just like the UK scandal, i expect alumni to come out of the woodwork to support Navarro......
