CA OMAHA 21-22 TEAMS:

Witty Kitties - Mini 1
Couragecats - Y1
Respectcats - J2
Epic Cats - J3
Savvy Cats - S3
LegacyCats - Senior Open Coed 6

The pattern I am seeing in here:

*Heavy on Senior 4+.
*Not very many Senior 1 to 3.
*Lots of J2 & 3.

Guessing this is all a product of the expanded Junior age band.

These posts are mostly the higher profile programs.

Is that what y'all are seeing in your own gym 21-22 teams? (Even at small gyms?)

That and good luck to anyone competing in any U17 2 or 3 or J2-3. So many teams it seems!

Not always of course, but boys tend to progress a lot faster than girls. Built differently and usually have less fear of throwing things than girls can have at times.

It's true:

JV cheerleaders when I coached:

Take 1-2 years to get standing tuck consistent enough for Varsity due to various mental blocks.

Random JV football boy:

Just does a tuck at a pep assembly having never tumbled in his entire life.

Yup. Look at the NFL players who will randomly throw a messy tumbling skill (like a RO tuck) in the end zone after scoring a touchdown. I even saw one of them do a full. They don't have any tumbling training, they're just athletically gifted men chucking themselves in the air. Girls are built completely differently and would never be able to just fling themselves into a standing tuck on grass without ever having done it before. While I've seen some boys who are weak tumblers and never progress past a handspring, overall it tends to be easier for them than girls.

Yup!
Guys at my gym joined 2 seasons ago. He could do a backhand spring, but landed on his knees every time. 6 months later he threw a punch front through to double on floor. It’s crazy

Someone posted that Coed Elite is now xscoed6

I have not seen anything definitive on that, is it for real now? I know that a LOT of Coed 21-22 is first year athletes because (it looks like) 90% of Coed 20-21 went to other teams (SE, Open Coed 6.)
