So people post random threads to vent about all kinds of things in the All Star world.
Well I started this to be one huge venting thread.

I'm going to start off with saying how incredibly irritating it is when a non-cheerleader guy tells me how "gay" it is that I'm in competitive cheerleading. It doesn't matter what sport they play, it always involves them showering, playing, being together with a bunch of guys. And yet my sport allows me to be surrounded by some of the most gorgeous, mostly intelligent ^_^, outgoing girls/women. Who change in front of us, we hang out with them all day, etc. I'm trying not to sound like a pervert here because I do have a girlfriend who is on one of the teams I cheer with. But really, why do these guys think I'm the "gay" one? Especially when the few gay guys on my team could out perform almost every single one of those guys on other sports. UGH! Venting completed.

Feel free to post what you want to vent about in the All Star world.

Not to cut down other sports, but I don't understand how tackling guys in football and other sports can be considered straight but male cheerleaders are considered "gay". Have you ever watched wrestling? They like grab eachother and hold eachother... yet wrestling is considered a manly sport as where cheerleading isn't?? i totally understand what you're saying. I think some people just don't understand all that all star cheerleading includes, because if I was a straight guy (im a girl) i would definately be a cheerleader. Yet, people cut guy cheerleaders down? (I am not saying gay is bad AT ALL. that's not what i mean by this so please don't take it as so. im saying the people who say it mean it in a bad way a lot of the time) It makes me mad. Haha, ok im done.

Ugh! Venting- totally agree! It is so annoying to hear other non-cheer guys say... "uhh cheering is for faggots" or any other derrogotary statements. Just because you decide to cheer doesn't mean that you are less manly in anyway, or mean that your gay. On my team, some are gay and some aren't. & yet some guys will say 'i'd never be a cheerleader because i'm not gay'. IMO for all male cheerleaders, I have tons* of respect for you guys for having to put up with so much crap from outsiders and still continuing to do what you love, regardless of what others say :). It always gets me fired up talking about that, but people who don't cheer are usually ignorant on the subject...so it's pointless anyways. & Also the everlasting comment of 'cheerleading isn't a sport because all they do is jump around in little skirts'. Most of the time when I hear that I don't even try to fight back anymore, because the ones saying it usually have no* idea what they are talking about. What we do is more of a sport than a lot of things that are officially named 'sports', which if these people tried it for a couple weeks i'm sure they would understand that better.

& also, it irritates me how sometimes gyms hate other gyms for no reason, just because they are the same area. This happens SO much, and I just don't think because a gym is in the same town as another, they have to bad name eachother and hate them. If they haven't done anything directed at you, than it should be nothing more than a little healthy competition between the two gyms. But of course thats not how it is... maybe if I were a gym owner I would feel different? But IDTS.

Done. :)

Time for a list!
1. I hate when people have bad attitudes at practice-really cause your not helping anyone
2. I hate when people that dont work their hardest at practice come off the mat crying cause they messe up-really should have worked harder at the gym
3. I hate negative people-the ones who look at a comp sched and say "oh we're gonna lose loook who were up against"
4. I hate excessive cheer mom's who coach from parent area-anyone ever notice the parents that go with the flow kids are awesome and the ones who coach from the side suck...knock it off
5. I hate people who think they are so much better then you all the time
6. I hate that all male cheerleader are gay...really so is your mom
7. I hate when flyers freak out in baskets and come plummiting down to mat feet first...sorry your about to hit the mat I like my nose not broken
8. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I feel better : )

Male cheerleaders are probably the most non-gay men around. Almost every non-cheerleading guy I know has something to say about it. How exactly is being able to hold a girl (or two) above your head with only one hand and no help GAY?! Isn't that manly? I'm pretty sure that's one of the most manly things you could do... Just saying. I'm pretty sure half the guys saying this stuff wouldn't be able to do that if they tried... Lol that is all.

1.I hate when people hate an entire gym just because they don't like one person, it's in the same area, or they don't like the area where the gym is located. There's never ANY reason to hate an entire program. Only a coach, owner, athlete, or multiple reasons but never every single person under that program.
2.AMEN to that! I hate when fliers freak out at all! Especially when airborne! I usually intimidate my fliers and it fixes everything lol. I once had a flier that used to stand on my wrist when her skill wasn't hitting (i.e. heel stretch, scorp, etc) to gain her balance and try the skill again. So I told her if she stood on my wrist one more time I'd punch her in the ankle mid-stunt. She never did it again. lol ^_^

I didn't really mean it but at least it worked.

Hey, listen up ,all. Gay or not gay, this is a HARD SPORT! We once had a guy on our coed team who said he had played football AND baseball, BUT cheerleading was THE hardest by far...oh and the most fun. Either way, ROCK ON, male cheerleaders! Our sport wouldn't be 1/5th as interesting if you weren't around. <3
THANK YOU! lol =p

1. YES. It's so stupid. & usually it is jealousy!
2. ahahahah! When I used to backspot, I told my flyer that if she flopped in her kick double and hit my face again i'd "give her a surprise she didn't like".... she did again and I pushed her on the ground. hahah not hurting her of course. she just didn't expect it. It was all out of fun, we were all good friends, but it was funny. Sometimes flyers need a little intimidation

LOVE your signature lol. That's pretty great.

I hate to be the one to break it to you folks, but, stereotypes are around for a reason. No, not all male cheerleaders are gay. But, the ones who wear make-up, shimmy, hair-whip, do splits, and generally act "fierce" do nothing to stop the stereotypes.
and people promote the guys to do it on here alot of the time, you cant not stop a stereo type that exist in America. So its pointless to complain about it, but still promote it at the same time.
