I wonder why schools such as Florida, Auburn, Notre Dame, and UCLA don't allow freshmen to try out for their cheerleading squads. Hmm...

Because they don't want you trying out at 5 schools, making all 5 and then choosing 1. That leaves the others down a person.

I've always been told that they aren't interested in dealing with Freshman. Straight out of high school, so called immature kids on their own for the first time who don't know how to time manage or handle college life/class along with being a college level athlete. I myself cheered as a freshman in college and I didn't find any of the above to be true, so I'm guessing its just the way its always been done at those schools and they aren't interested in changing it!

Most colleges require that you are enrolled before trying out to cut down on this risk, but there is always still those kids that enroll and get in all of them and then try out for multiple ones. What's to stop transfer ins from doing the same?

You can be a freshman on UF. I know many girls who started cheering there as freshman. In fact they have a clinic coming up strictly for upcoming freshman who are interested in trying out.
