she already belongs on a level 5. her flexibility is crazy & have seriously the prettiest double downs i've EVER seen in my entire life. everytime their j4 team goes on my attention is automatically drawn right to her. definition of a fierce diva!

Just a pointless question, but aren't those really technically bottle rockets she does in the center formation? I only ask because she never grabs for her foot and it never holds in the stretched position and it's the same leg each time. It just looks more like a bottle rocket to me. Not that it makes much difference skill-wise, and that many in a row is RIDICULOUS! I'm not trying to take away anything she did, please don't think that!

that girl is also on thier junior 4 team too. thats why she is so good and can do like 39475 tic toks lol!

No, she's so good because she works her tail off. Not because she's also on J4... being on j4 isn't the reason that she's that good. She's on J4 because she is that good.

I didn't mean it to come out that way. i just was stating that she was on level 4 too so she can do more then level 2 skills and she is very talented and level 2 is probably easier for her. i will agree she is an amazing little girl i am not saying she is good just because she is on a level 4 team too.

Yeah. Pro's Jr 4 is also outstanding and looks more than ready for Level 5. I wonder how many other of the Jr 4 girls also do Youth 2. Even if this girl in the only one, she's clearly so advanced and such a focal point of their routine that it makes the team look different from a regular Youth 2. Is there even such a thing as an outstanding Youth 2 team? Or can one safely assume that any outrageously good Level 2 team probably has crossovers from higher levels? At this point the sport has become-- you want to be insanely good at the lower levels? Use out-of-level crossovers. And then the teams who keep all athletes in as close to their actual level as possible are at a disadvantage. Sigh.

I don't know the answer to that, and I'm not going to speculate. Pro does a phenomenal job with all their teams...just look at their minis. They are incredible, without crossovers (I believe). From what I have seen, all the teams have grown immensely ability-wise from the beginning of the season to the end. The coaching staff there has done a great job training those girls in all aspects of all-star cheer--tumbling, stunting, jumping, and performing. So what looks "sandbagging" to you (ultimately, this is what you are suggesting), is really just a progression from a decent level 2 (or 1, or 4, etc) team to what you see today. I see a program that is truly preparing their athletes for the next level. Isn't that really what we should be striving for? Improvement throughout the season and advancing our athletes?

Then there's the constant debate about keeping kids with kids their own age vs. their ability. By double-teaming, she gets both, right? I can't see much of a negative in that. Its not like she's cross-teaming from their senior 5 to youth 2. And if I'm not mistaken, she still has at least one more year of youth eligibility. So her peers are really on that youth 2 team.

*Please note that I am not affiliated in any way with Pro. I am familiar with the program, staff, and many athletes, but I hold no connection directly with them. This is my opinion on what I have seen.

No, I get what you are saying. I just hate to see an athlete's accomplishments diminished just because she is also on another team. I think I've said before that I used to coach several of these kids (some of them for a few years), and I still tend to get all "mama-bear" about them, even though its been a little while. Parents and athletes often talk about how their gym is like family, and we coaches feel the same way! Sorry if my reaction came out too harsh.

I see what you're saying. I think Pro is fantastic. But I do believe a level 2 team should be for the level 2 kids. If a highly skilled level 4 girl is going to be helping out the level 2 team, I would want to see her in the role of helping, not having a routine built around her. Build the level 4 routine around the level 4 athletes and let the kids of more level 2 ability shine on level 2. I could see if a child started off the season as a level 2 athlete and progressed to level 4 potential by the end of the year, but I don't want to see the sport going further in the direction where teams feel they must use upper level kids to enhance their lower level teams to be competitive.
