This time of year is a lot of things for the Allstar world. End of season, Worlds, and Sign-ups/Registration. Around this time of year, not only as a cheerleader talking to friends, but as a coach talking to parents, I get asked a lot:
What is my child going to learn from cheerleading? or Why should I choose cheer over another sport?
I am usually quick to jump to the positive life values cheerleading teaches. But I think sometimes cheerleaders themselves forget that cheerleading is more than just about winning. Along this line of though I've started making some posters (seen below) with the values cheerleading instils. Sort of a "definition" of what cheerleading is/means to us. I'd like to hear what you guys think. Come up with some adjectives and definitions and post them here. If you'd like me to make posters using picture of your team, PM me. Let's see how many ways we can define cheerleading

Family. In every way - the team is a family...the whole gym becomes a family (parents, coaches, and athletes...and yes, even Susie's mom). We love, laugh, cry, fight, and make up...like any family. But let someone else try to even look at someone from my family the wrong way...not happening.

And I love the poster.
