Just heard that ICE of Illinois didnt pass inspection on their building and they lost temporary occupency permit. What does this mean for the teams? Will they have to get a new building? Will the gym remain open?

Wow. They just can't catch a break over there. :(

since i am not a coach/owner/or anything like that im just curious,
does every gym have to have an inspection to make sure the gym is safe like once a year?

Probably just means they have to make corrections.

Ive done skills camps two years in a row there and I just LOVE that program, their facility is incredible and they have a wonderful family and group of athletes surrounding them... They've been through a LOT this year... please send some prayers their way... im sending my LoVe! <3

It may not be that serious. If there are violations, they need to be fixed. My grandfather does those inspections for a living. You'd be surprised how often things like this happen.

It's a brand new facility! Did they not have to have it inspected in November when it opened?

They probably did, but may not have fixed whatever needed fixing. It also may not be on ICE, but on whoever owns the actual building.

I'm not a gym owner but my parents own a business and the way that I always understood it is that all businesses needed to have an inspection in order to have the permit to run it. Not sure if gyms have to as well but I would assume they would. The inspections make sure that the building is up to code with everything not just the equipment they tumble on.

^Yes. All buildings must pass a series of inspections and plan checks with different branches before being opened to the public. There's city and fire plan checks. Anything can stop a business from opening. For example - my work added a two story office building, and we ran into an issue with how high the door handles were and the direction the doors opened that prevented us from continuing with the permit process.

Yeah when my parents went to get their permit they had to go back and redo so many little minor things because the person wouldn't pass them. They were so random too. Hey at least they don't back down and want things perfect, I know of a restaurant that should not have passed theirs and was friends with the inspector so they got the go ahead, a year later the health inspector shut them down. Glad I never went there for lunch.

My gym failed one year because I used an extention cord from the wall to the radio. No extention cords allowed in a warehouse.
