So sad to see some of the old Comet staff and girls just leave and not be part of something great that they helped build, but on a brighter note, everyone from both programs is so excited...over a hundred just at the EB location alone so far and the Kenilworth location will host what will most likely be a great turnout next week!

Can't wait :)

People leave gyms for a variety of reasons. Some that helped build the Comet name may leave, but the Comet name doesn't exist anymore. They didn't help build CJA.

Oh no doubt, I agree..but they certainly helped build and create the amazing amont of talent at the East Brunswick location and it's sad that some do not want to be part of the future, no matter what the reason is good or bad. Regardless...it's all looking forward and onward at this point.

I have been apart of that organization from start to finish. I was loyal to the comet name for years. Now that the name is no longer there it's time for me to move on. I wish everyone the best of luck and no matter what colors or names those kids and coaches are wearing I will always support the athletes that I've helped trained over the years. Please don't assume thAt I just up and left my kids and "didn't want to be apart of something great that I helped build" because I assure you I am on to my own bigger and better endeavors as well.

I think a lot of people (and I don't mean all) are using the "our name gone" excuse to jump ship to an organization that they probably wanted to go to all along but just never found the right time or excuse to do so. There is no doubt that there is something very alluring about that program...so much so that I'd bet the same people would have left had CJA decided to keep Comets as part of their name.

Bigger isn't always better, which seems to be a common misconception, but that's neither here nor there.. You are obviously happy with your decision and are maintaining a level of respect and good-wishes for the athletes who are also moving on to something different that is bigger and better as well. No one can fault you for that...You have to do what's right for you.

In any case, 2012 will prove to be an exciting season for all involved, regardless of the colors :) Good luck!!

OK, so does anyone have the scoop on what teams they're fielding this year? ;) Please, only respond if you know for sure- no speculating!

I'm not using it as an "excuse" at all. I am actually legitimately sad that the Comet name is gone because I have been there from start to finish and know what it started as and what it grew into - not many people stuck to it the entire time, but those that did know why its upsetting
