So, what are your thoughts on these men and women and their GPA? Believe me, every competition I go to I pray I will see these great teams. But.. is it too much? Do the "club" teams monitor the grades of these students if it's a "club"?

Club teams are typically run through Recsports or Campus sports, so even though they may not be a varsity sport at their school, grades are still monitored and all forms for eligibility and trips and such still have to go through a university governed body. Clubs still represent their university and have the same standards as all on-campus sports, whether varsity or not. They just don't get funding like varsity sports.

I believe most colleges have standards for all clubs. I know that at Kent State to get in a sorority you need to have atleast a 2.5 and it is similar for business clubs. I do not remember what the cheer GPA requirement was because I was well over it, I believe it was a 2.25.

Most Colleges require their cheerleaders to maintain a 2.0 or 2.5 GPA to continue to receive a scholarship.

It is not hard to maintain a 2.0 or a 2.5 GPA and continue to cheer as long as you go to class.... It's important to remember that Cheerleading is not the purpose of college, receiving a quality education while using your cheerleading abilities to obtain a degree is the main focus.
