Ok I have read the rule in high school where tic tocs are prohibited "Free standing tic tocs are prohibited"
Does anyone know if switch ups or low to highs are legal?
B/C the definition of a tic toc is " A stunt that is held in a static position on one leg, downward dip by bases... and switch weight to the other leg and land in a static position on other leg. The dip may or may not pass through prep level before release"
The red is whats confusing me

and does anyone have the NHSF rules that they could give me b/c the site keeps telling me I need to be a member... which maybe a good thing! USASF may want to this and maybe more gyms will become members!!! ;)

anyways any help would be greatly appreciated

a switch up (where you start from the ground and switch legs before stopping in the stunt, ie lib) are legal at the HS level. A tick-tock is defined as going into a single leg stunt and THEN switching post legs, which is illegal at the HS level. There are ways around it: 1. the tick tock is done with braces on the sides, 2. a low to high tick-tock where the back maintains contact with the ankle.

they have the 2011-2012 rules posted.

I only have the book that is given to me every session. I know plenty of teams that have done switch ups and haven't received any deductions or been told not to do it so I'm guessing its ok but I can double check the book to see if there's more detail

Ok switch ups are legal, awesome!
and yes I am clear on the tic tocs with braces! Tic tocs I knew were illegal!

So low to high tic tocs you will have to do like level 3 allstar rules, correct?

Thank You!!!!
Your welcomes and it doesn't say anything about switch ups in the book (unless they use a different name). I haven't received the 2011-2012 book yet but when I do I'll let you know if they add anything

the 2011-2012 AACCA rules are posted on their website.

the link to click is on the top right, you'll get a drop down with the 2011-2012 rules, the 2010-2011 HS, 2010-2011 college and I believe 2010-2011 all star

High to High tic tocks are illegal unless braced on both sides. Low to high must be done with the backspot holding the ankle at all times! Switch ups can be done the same way the backspot cannot release the ankle until the top of the toss [right before the switch]

high to high and low to high can both be done with bracers only on ONE side. So when you do it in a pyramid, the entire group can release, and there only needs to be one person in a prep bracing the arm of the girl who is ticking and tocking.

Can someone explain to me exactly what the difference between a low to high and a switch up is? I get the difference between a tick tock and the other two are, but i'm not sure as to exactly what the differences between a low to high and a switch up are.

i think:
switchups are what they sound like, you switch on the way up to a prep or extended level stunt
and low to highs are a dip to prep level, and then a tick tock to extended level.
i think...
