Brian Elza from Athletic talked about the Varsity score sheet & told us how they were changing all Varsity events to 25/75. Mostly everyone there was against it. I would say 98%! I think he was surprised to see that & said he would definitely pass that on. We all liked 40/60 better.
Hopefully they listen to all of us.

Its not alllll of us. My gym personally loves 25/75 and there was obviously a reason they made the switch.

Its really hard to look at your little kids and tell them that yes they did wayyy better than yesterday and the team that beat them fell today but because of the way the score breaks down you weren't able to overcome yesterday. I love the prelims and finals feel. Get the jitters out the first day and go out and give it all you've got for finals.

I just dont like it cause it seems like day 1 counts for nothing. what about the teams that hit on day 1, but have a mistake on day 2. they dont stand a chance of winning with those percentages. i personally think 40/60 is the best solution.

I was at the Friday classes in Mason, Ohio yesterday. Craig El gave a really fun and informative talk on Choreography and how to build relationships with your choreographers. The scoresheet talks (Jam score and Varsity) went well also, and really clarified some of the details about the coed stunting score (for Jam brands). Courtney Pope gave an amazing and insightful talk on building a championship program, truly leaving me so inspired!

I thought everything went great and was very beneficial. I can't stay for Saturday, but @HCKayla is there and I'm sure she can update tonight on more!

I agree 100%!!! 25%/75% is a much better breakdown and I agree prelims/finals feel is awesome!!! People will argue both sides but it comes down to consistency regardless. One breakdown will benefit one, the other another team blah. I'm all in favor of 25% - 75% Day 2 should mean more, that's why its "Day 2".

The teams that hit on day 1 but fall on day 2 go into awards knowing their placement should drop. Still winning after a fall on day 2 isn't nearly as sweet as knowing you hit !

I guess i will have to agree to disagree with all of you. I still think that nationals are 2 day comps & and both days should be equally important.

I love the Olympic style scoring WSA uses. Its your best score from either day. You hit, they hit, it's the best team from either day. It's the great equalizer.

I wish they would go back to qualifying for a National and on top of that QUALIFYING for Day 2. But I'm sure I'm along on that lol.
