I love the Olympic style scoring WSA uses. Its your best score from either day. You hit, they hit, it's the best team from either day. It's the great equalizer.
Personally I hate the olympic style scoring. My parents are my customer and if they are going to pay for a 2 day event then both days of the 2 day event need to count close to equally. Also the judges normally score higher on one day than the other so not only do they have to be consistant from team to team but also from day to day. A couple of years ago we went to New Orleans to WSA and someone said that it didnt really change the places much BUT I actually did the math of every team in the entire competition and 70% would have been different if they do 40/60 instead of only your batter day counts. Im sure youre thinking I have too much time on my hands LOL. Back then maybe I did but the reason I did it was becasue the winners seemed to be really funky to me. In almost every case the teams day 2 score was higher than day one and I cant belive that EVERY team did better on day 2. That really doesnt seem to make sense. Of corse I would love to see everyone agree on what is best for the industry but unfortunately most people I talk to will say "well for our team bla bla bla" . It cant be about our teams it needs to be about the industry or it will never grown to be better.

Isn't this how BATC works?
Yes and thats the only thing about the competition that I don't like (AT ALL)... Just doesnt make send to me...I mean I guess they can do what they want. Its their company and if we want to compete there we have to deal with it BUT I REALLY dont like it... Just dont think its FAIR...

I can very well see why many people would hate it and why others would love it. It's definitely a unique way to do it. Guess it's just a way to put a teams best performance up against everyone else's "best".

When will registration be available for the 2012 Regional Meetings? I am specifically looking for info on the West meeting on August 10-12 in CA
