My 8 yr olds, with like the youngest of tiny's? (3yrs) I think there needs to be a tiny division, since a lot of those children are space cadets, and dont have much skill at this point. While some mini's, even at 6 or 7, can be right of point and fierce. So if you're running a small program, and having to combine all these athletes could end in disaster!

And as a coach, working with Tinys through to Junior, I would not want to face the extreme differences of a few years, and have to try and choreograph a routine around it.

But, if this were a perfect world, the idea is great

4 division of ages seems too many. So maybe no overlap? 14-18 for seniors. 9-13 for juniors. 8 to 5 for minis.

No tinys.

The main thing is age floors. 14-18 seems very appropriate age wise to me.

9-13 I think seems rihlght in my head. 5th graders through 8th graders.

8 to 5 gives you a range of sizes and kids. And tinys 'can' pose a safety risk IMO. If no one under the age of 5 was allowed to compete would that really be a bad thing?

I defiantly see this as a better option. And for those tiny teams at you gym, they could become just pre-comp, or "rec" teams.

The tinies can be left as exhibition. People can take them to competitions. Everyone gets a medal. But no need to worry about the competitive-ness of the team.

I think the issue here is the split between youth and junior. For smaller gyms, it is going to be harder to have a youth team if they are capped at 8 year olds. You're taking 3 years out of youth and moving them up to juniors.

Would it be that horrible to have only a bottom limit on Seniors? Or perhaps just a layover of ages on Youth/Junior.

Senior 14-18
Junior 9-13
Youth up to 10

I think that works. I dont think 5 year olds need to be on competitive teams. Everyone else can just be exhibition.

This would also give every age bracket 5 years of athlete ages to chose from.

So the first year you can compete is 1st grade. Works for me.

Thinking back, to when my daughter did competitive gymnastics, the earliest she could have competed was age 6 or 7. I do believe you had to be 6 by a certain date, to compete that year - for the first real competitive level (level 4) - so that goes along with the age grid (youngest) that you are suggesting. I do agree that Tiny teams should be like a pre team (age 3-5) like they also do in gymnastics - and just be exhibition teams.

So right now, for Medium Senior it is:

American Elite Allstars Celebrity
Arizona Power Envy
California Allstars
Cheer Athletics Panthers
Cheer Extreme Kernersville
Cheer Extreme Raleigh
FAME Super Seniors
Maryland Marlins Tsunami
Maryland Twisters Weather Girls
Michigan Xtreme Prestige
South Jersey Storm Lady Reign
Stingray Allstars Amber
Texas Cheer Red
Woodlands Elite Generals
World Cup Suns

And maybe FCA and Pittsburgh Superstars?
Anything about anyone else? Has Central Jersey said what they will be? I know there was some hope or a rumor going around that they were going to go Medium after combining with Comets but since they no longer are I'm not sure what happened there.

Just saw a lot of posts on facebook, apparently Cheerforce Coed Black is now Medium All Girl

Cheerforce Black is Medium All Girl? What is Diamonds?

And is C4 Longhorns Medium Coed or Medium All Girl?
