I have limited discussion on minors on here quite a few times, but it is hard to make a hard and fast rule about everything. It is up to the admins discretion about how best to moderate said topics. We don't want to discourage praise for individuals (if Miss So and So does something amazing I don't want people to not talk about it). But the leaving of gyms, personal issues... we don't want to completely expose a childs life on here.

Miss Gardner is a special case that isn't repeated often. It will be treated a little bit differently as it is more in the extreme, but I ask people keep their opinions civil. They do not have to agree and criticism is what it is, but there are smarter ways to phrase it.

With celebrity comes the magnifying glass, and I can say Maddie has done a very decent job of dealing with it (from my perspective).

Thanks King, I think you have done a good job. On a whole, this board is very civil and has been very fair to Maddie. And on a side note, Maddie does not read this board, very little Facebook and her mother does most of the fan page stuff. Now the IPhone gets burned slam up best I can tell. Anything here can be blaimed on a somewhat overprotective father and I too have been a bit over the line at times. But hey, I apologize if I hurt any feelings.

As I told fierceT, I don't think it should be acceptable to insult a child on an online forum. She didn't ask for the praise, she is just doing what she loves. She is an awesome flyer, and whether you like her or not, I don't think you should calling out an individual in a negative way. You never know who reads the fierceboard... for example the person who posted right above you is her dad.

She didn't ask for the praise are you kidding me? she had a prime time special on CNN about HER and basically HER only. Listen, she is a fantastic flyer, I have nothing against Maddie at all she is a great girl and clearly a very positive role model for young cheerleaders everywhere, but if we're going to analyze cheerleaders, which is what this forum is all about, then it's fair to bring up different points of view. I didn't find fiercenowayy's post to be offensive in any way he's just asking a question that I think is fair to ask. Aside from flying how amazing is she? it's a fair question. Odds are he can tumble better than her, should he get a CNN special because of that?

...You guys DO know @StarshipTrooper 's her dad, right? *petz deh newbiez*

I do think 'cheerlebrity' is an intriguing phenomenon..because instead of criticizing a more subjective talent (like acting), you're mostly criticizing a pretty straightforward thing: SKILL. HOWEVER, what SHOULD we look for in 'cheerlebrities'? Is it JUST talent? Is it skill, work ethic, positivity, handling a VERY demanding spotlight, being an excellent role model, maintaining good grades? If you are explicit about how YOU choose your 'cheerlebrities' then it can be easier understood. Because from MY criteria (which is all of the above), Maddie makes for an excellent one. Sometimes you get lucky and lightning strikes, or your ducks just decided to line up in a row, or what have you. Is it HER 'fault' she got blessed? No. Does that give you an free pass to run your mouth off? Nope, although people seem to think so. And actually, this forum ISN'T 'just' about analyzing cheerleaders, it's about discussing the industry, having fun, meeting people, sharing positive ideas, and learning. And sometimes, it's learning WHAT to say and HOW to say it. If you've ever played the "I love you" game, it's acting 101. There are 1000 different ways to say "I love you" and each carry a different meaning. Choose wisely when it comes to words..we hold you to them here. ESPECIALLY when discussing minors.

As for favorite cheerlebrity..I'm partial to Holden and Mini B. Holden is talented and has the flowing locks I wish I had and Mini B is talented and absolutely presh. I could just cry he's so little and cute. I remember when Holden was that small..

I don't know if your post was directed at me directly or to the FierceBoard as a whole. But anyway, I don't think people need to watch what they say. It's a freaking message board. People get talked about positively and negatively. And I don't need a "free pass" to run my mouth. I will say and do as I please. Wether that pisses people off or not, I don't care. And please to the people who would like to lecture me about that not being a good way to live or not....save it. This board is always nitpicking at the stupidest crap. Not everyone shares the same opinion as you. Get the hell over it. I just asked the simple question of what she does that is so special compared to someone who doesn't get the praise and is better. I'll give it to her...she is an amazingly flawless flyer. BUT, her team mates should receive a lot more praise than they do.

*Side note: It takes so much restraint to not cure on this board.8

First of all, Maddie's fame was NOT a result of the CNN special, the CNN special was a result of her fame. EVERYONE knew who she was way before and she was being critized way before that, so the CNN special is irrelevant. This forum is not about critiquing young athletes... they have coaches for that. The fierce board is about discussion, not bashing a young individual. And if that comment was about me, I would be very offended. I'm glad Maddie is so mature about everything.

Like you said, not everyone is going to agree with you. If you want people to respect your opinion and listen to what you have to say, you are going to need to learn to talk respectfully. If you want to just tell everyone to "get the hell over it", you should go back to youtube because no one here wants to have to read through useless rude posts like that.

He didn't bash her? Just asked a question. I think people need to stop being so hyper-sensitive... JMO
