Gosh, it has been so long since I have remembered my first mix. I was a Junior in high school and put some music together for our JV team. Back then the only program I used was a FREE downloadable one called Acoustica. I'm pretty sure others have used it too. It was very dry, cut and pasted mix, very minimal sfx and some counts were off lol. It's funny how much one can progress if they keep it up and try their hardest.

I do remember always going to Chat's old "Cheersound.com" site and listening to the billions of sample mixes he had of many teams. Haha I even remember he offered on the site to buy a custom build computer to mix music. I wonder if people ever did buy one. I knew I always wanted to.

Chat if you are reading this, I would give anything to hear those Allstar team mixes you had on there (Back in 2005). Especially that one mix you did with a "One" theme. That was my favorite... oh and the "Chicago" theme mix. Gosh I miss those days lol.

I've heard a lot about @SlapFire 's old pursuits in cheer sound, I would totally love to hear some of those mixes. He did tell me about the computer thing too which I thought was a cool idea too, maybe we'll dive back into that sometime!

My first mix was for PowerCheer All-Stars in Daytona Beach in 2001. It was an individual. I cut my music (that I downloaded from Napster) with MAGIX and then compiled it in Acid 2.0!

I randomly stumbled upon it a few weeks ago - HOT MESS. Fun songs - no beats...just music. It almost sounds like I was using the radio and a tape deck. My have we come a long way since then!

My first music first music routines Ever were "South Florida Allstars" (where I coached) in 1999-2000 and then FAU (where I cheered in college) in 2000-2001. I was given a copy of Acid 1 by Hernan Cortes who said "hey man check this out, you can make your music on your own computer now" lol!!!

Music Machines!!!! I learned within one year that i didn't want to be in the computer business! Thos emachines were sick, but if someone didn't know how to use them, they would call nonstop. I think I was one of the only English speaking tech supporters in the world at the time. LOL!

It wasn't until 2003, that I started to like Cheerleading Music. Before then, it was just a job that alot of people appreciated, but I didn't see why people liked this crazy sounding stuff. In 2000, I went to the American Open in Tampa FL and saw what torture I was doing to these kids. I didn't like any of my music. Then I saw Top Gun All Stars Coed perform to Mark Bryan's Mixes and I knew then, what i needed to do to make the kids go crazy. 2 years later I'm mixing Top Gun and I'm liking the music. 4 years later, I'm mixing World Cup and I'm LOVING the music! 5 years later, SlapFire is born and now it's time to have fun! If it wasn't for Mark Bryan setting the Custom Music Standard at the time, Things would have never gotten to where they are now. And this is still the beginning. I'm so stoked for Cheerleading Music!

My first mix was for my own all star team in Ga (American Patriots Jr) Back when it was just Youth, JR, and Sr. No Coed, no levels, etc. 84 teams in a division. I did it on a double tape deck and a fast pause button press with Sammy Hall. LOL
