Canadian teams have to get their bids in Canada. We currently have 4 or 5 competitions that give bids. One in Vancouver (on the West coast) , one in Toronto (2100 miles East of Vancouver), one or two in Montreal (350 miles East or Toronto) and one in Halifax (500 miles East of Montreal). Last season we had close to 40 teams looking for bids. Only one region of Canada is considered an "emerging" market (thus able to get video bids) and honestly, its not "emerging" (just weak).

PCT will be attempting to bring 3 teams to Worlds again this season IO 6, IO Coed 6 and IO Coed 5.

Since i'm from saskatchewan what do you mean when you say we're considered emerging? My team was the first team from saskatchewan to win a bid to worlds this year. We got our bid in vancouver at Sea to Sky :)

I believe the IASF considers areas emerging if they are still developing, don't have a tons of teams, and are "new markets" (at least that is how its been defined to me). Two years ago, Quebec was an emerging market and thus were allowed to get a bid to worlds via video bids. Three years ago Ontario could get bids via video because it was considered emerging.

There is, or at least there was last year. If you are at least 500 km from a bid competition - which you are in Saskachewan you could apply for a video bid.

Hi everyone :) Just wanted to introduce myself to the fellow Canadians on the board. I'm Michelle and I am one of the owners of a new all-star gym in Ontario...Pulse All-Star. We're just finishing summer workshops to build interest in our program and about to start our regular program. We're looking forward to this very exciting first season.
Hope to get to know all of you through the forums and see lots of you at competition this year :)

Thank you for the welcome :) We are located in Kingston and we definitely have a website.
Love the Sharks btw!! Your fan support is always so amazing. We'll be seeing you at the "regular" competitions and maybe some in the states as well depending on where you are going this year. We're very excited to be doing Battle at the Beach for the first time.

Sharks will be sending most sr teams (lvl2,4.2,3/4,so5) the other states comps we're sending teams to (that i can think of) is Kalahari, Jamfest, NCA, BATB, and Worlds! will u be at any?

Thank you for the great compliments :) We are all really looking forward to BATB! Being as this is most of the athletes first experience with all-star, they are very excited!! We're still taking registrations for our teams and will decide the levels after some time with all of them. We will, however, be taking 2 senior teams and possibly an open team. As of right now, we are only planning one other competition in the states but next year we will be adding to the list for sure.

We're so excited to get started on our regular season...taking registration now. We've had such a great response from athletes, their families, and from the community as a whole! I'm looking forward to everything :)
