If top 10 happens would Full Paid bids go straight through to semi's? Is this an option? Just curious.

I don't like this whole prelims, semis, finals thing, it seems to actually take MORE time than all of the teams going regardless of bid

I think if only top 10 were taken to finals, it would make the whole event more exciting. It would make it so almost every single team competing you WANT to see. No sitting down and wasting your time with teams that barely scratched through in 19th place that have no real shot at winning. No offence to anyone, I just think the majority of spectators at Worlds, especially day 2, are there to see the top teams, the big names, not the small senior team that looked like it was thrown together 3 days before hand that somehow managed to hit and make it into finals in last place. (I know this isn't always the case, Rockstar Beatles were 17th day 1 in 2011)

I agree with @chyeeaaa69 I don't want to waste my time watching all of those at large bids in small senior. We all want to see the top 10, I mean honestly, that's what most of the spectators are there to see. How many people are there to see the at large team that has more tucks than fulls? Or can't even hit a straight up to stretch?

Oh I absolutely LOVE the idea of prelims, semis, finals. And I def think full paid bids should get to skip prelims. I think 3 rounds is a great idea. I was just asking if bids had any standing. I know back in the day they did and I thought it was cool watching teams do their mark through and it was actually more prestigious to receive a full paid.

Venue issues aside, I like 3 rounds with finals narrowed to 10. I still feel that your bid type should not affect how you are treated once the competition starts, however. I think all round 1s should be completely random, and each successive round be reverse ranking from he previous round.

I could get behind that. I just threw out the bid idea bc it was one that I liked, doesn't really matter to me. I think top 10 is way more important.

While I like the idea of three rounds, what about when the full paid bid is offered? Or who offers it? Every year there are complaints that teams that wouldn't be able to get a full paid bid, let alone a bid period if they went up against the projected top 10 in any division ends up getting a bid from some company? Would that cease if we used such a formula? Just asking - not starting trouble.

My thought is a bid, is a bid is a bid. As long as it was earned and it is above board in how it was distributed then it should matter. If it is not then once again the system is screwed up. However from reading the boards I know many don't share that sentiment, weighing some bids as worth higher than others. (CheerSport vs Cheer Tech or late in the year when most teams already have bids for example)

IDK about skipping rounds for full paid. On one hand it is a nice reward but on the other should a team that earned a full paid be able to hit a routine 3 days in a row? I guess as long as it is not a free pass into the finals then it is workable.

I know this would make Prelims go FOREVER, but Id actually like to see the Full Paid bids compete in prelims like they used to - They could compete and choose to go as full out, or mark as much as they wanted in Prelims and automatically advance to Semi-Finals. I know for my team last year - not ONCE, all year - Did my Level 5 team compete on an elevated stage. Being in Jostens and competing higher up had them freaked prior to hitting the floor.

If we do this whole 10 to finals thing, I'd love to see small and small limited in the Josten's center day one. Free up some room for IOAG 5 and IOC 5 (two VERY competitive and also very popular divisions) in the Milkhouse for at least one day of the weekend. I think all club divisions need to have finals in the Milkhouse, as much as I love the international divisions, club divisions should be priority there, it's mostly those teams (Especially large senior) that bring the HUGE amount of people.

Personally, I think ALL teams should compete in all rounds. All a paid means is that it ensures that you don't occur any or little expenses to the cheerleading worlds. I do not think that should give your a free pass to any round. Consistency wins championships. I think if you are able to be consistent for three days, you deserve the rings. I know at large teams have not represented as of late, but Basics Superstars proved that an at large can walk away with a medal.
Prelims and semis will weed out plenty of teams. I think 3 rounds is the way to go.

for a second there I thought you were gonna say all teams should go to finals..
I actually do kind of agree with the 3 rounds thing the more I think about it, I just feel that it took more time? I may be wrong
