Does anyone know how to get a hold of someone from there?
There is some of our gyms music on there and our gym owner
doesn't want it out yet.

The person who runs it does not answer any emails. Believe me, I've tried... The only way to get that taken off is ask the person who uploaded to take it down. Otherwise, its going to be on their for forever =/

yeah, thats what i figured. and i did email whoever the person is that put it up. doubt they will respond.....
just seems kind of crazy that there is no kind of control there.

Theres a lot of copyright laws being broken there as well, so I doubt the person who owns it will ever step forward anyways...

The whole point of cheer library is so the vids/mixes don't get taken down...right? Gym owners/coaches just have to be careful who they share things w/. Once you trust that one person, it's out for everyone to see. Who should really take the blame?..

I'm assuming it was an athlete..are 'we' going to have to start sending kids home with incomplete mixes just so that the real ones don't get uploaded? (Using the hypothetical 'we' here..lol) I know we always got our mixes so we could practice motions/dance at home, especially for Open when we only practiced once a week and some of us didn't live near a gym..

Although, just because it's the 'whole point' of it, doesn't mean it's legal. I've always thought it was a legal death-trap waiting to happen.

We are a small gym without a level 5, so it's not like anyone's interested in our music. That being said, there would be a lot of conditioning for the team if someone shared their music...

Never said anything about it being legal or not. I just say be careful and blame yourself...even if it was given to your athletes. If you don't want it on the internet, don't give it out.

I'm not saying whos to blame. All i want to know is how do you get a hold of someone there? they never respond to any emails or anything - even if it was to say they cant do anything...... who is in charge of the cheer library anyways??

Ok my apologies! It just bothers me when people throw out the illegal card becuase they are using music that they do not own for a routine & say it's illegal when someone else posts it on the internet. Anyway, idk who is in charge & doubt you can get it taken down =/

Its fine - no apologies necessary. i get it that music leaks out no matter how careful you are. In the scheme of things, its not a major problem. I mean 2 of the biggest gyms in the country's music is out - and everybody and their brother has it. and we are just a little gym in comparison.
It's just weird that you can't get in touch with anyone on there at all.

@coach12 -- Seems like you told them! It's off. I will say that I heard Elite and Juco's music and I'm kind of obsessed.. should have downloaded while I had the chance :/

lol! just noticed that! actually i think my gym owner got thru to someone!
but thank you! every team in our gym has amazing music this year thanks to JR!

Here are some practical rules for cheerleading nowadays:

The second you perform publicly your routine will be seen by everyone. Just a fact of how easy it is to share videos nowadays.
Anytime music is in the possession of at least one athlete then the entire cheer world has it. So either just you (the coach) has it or everyone has it.. no in between.
If you allow people to film at your gym that is also online and other gyms have seen your stuff.... possibly 30 seconds after you just did it.
Your athletes on your team have already told their friends on the rival team they compete against what you at doing and (most likely inflated) how well they are doing it.

Ok our music is OFF cheer library. Fewww. That was a task..Hope it stays that way... At least until we compete.
