just a random question for everybody here does anybody know what happened to cheerforce wildcats from midland :s? i noticed they aren't part of the cheerforce family anymore

they closed, I couldn't tell you exactly what the reasoning was, as they were planning 7 teams and it appears to not be because of lack of interest, but I do know that they have closed for sure.

weird the reason im asking is cause the same gym/coaches that hosted wildcats is now opening another gym under another name similar to what they were before they went to wildcats so the whole thing just confused the heck outta me

yeah, when I heard from a friend (former CF athlete) it seemed like a lot of behind-the-scenes drama went on, but I can't say that for sure, it may well have been nothing of the sort.

hmm i wouldnt be surprised this happened at another gym i was part of in the states coaches were ripping off parents and athletes so they separated and now theyre part of another franchise thankfully those coaches were kicked out of the gym and they got new owners and coaches

Cheerforce Tigers from Hamilton closed as well.

a friend who used to be at CF just said it's more of a combining with Wolfpack situation. I know quite a good percentage of Tigers already cheered at WP anyways

What's everyone's first competition?!
Have you competed already?

The first competition in BC doesn't start until the second week of December unfortunately, but I can't wait for the showcase!

Question for all of you in the waterloo area- would you recommend cheering all star (with the sharks of course) or for school (u of Waterloo)? I'm looking to go there next year but I'm really stuck on which. I've done all stars all my life and i can't imagine not, and I would love to be a shark. And yet cheering for school would be so much more convenient, and a new experience. Any advice?

I've heard really great things about the team at U of Waterloo, I have a couple friends on the team who have also cheered at Sharks, and they love both! U of Waterloo competes in 2 weeks at PCA, so maybe it will be easier to make your decision when you see a video of them?

Thats a hard choice. School= more convenient, and get to meet more people at school. Allstar= more competitive, better training facility.
Sharks has an Open 6, and 4.2 both allgirl. U of W is def coed lol. They actually sometimes get to train at the Sharks gym every so often, like last night. I was there during their practice. Some of the stuff they do is impressive, but scary- as in isnt ready to be thrown but trying it anyways like tblg. But they have some great tosses, and some great athletes for sure
I'd say if your use to a more all girl (since you pic says your on VAS i assume you are) environment, you'd probably be more use to the style of cheer Sharks does.

I trained with Grey Reefs (International Open 6) this summer, the team is great and from what I've heard, looking to be much more competitive this year. U of Waterloo is large coed, they did great last year, considering they were in an extremely tough division, which is dominated by Western and Queens. I know a few girls from the U of Waterloo team, and they have nothing but great things to say about the team.
I recently did the switch from All Star to University, and I haven't had the greatest transition, I really miss all star a lot. I know most of the university teams have open practices over the summer, so my best suggestion would be to get in contact with the coaches and see if you can attend one and decide from there.
