I am officially taking Jazz technique during spring semester!! :) SO excited about taking this course, however I haven't danced since elementary/middle school! I was a pretty big dancer (jazz/hip-hop), but when it came to high school I had to make the decision if I wanted to dance or cheer both in school and outside of school....I clearly chose cheer. I do not regret my decision of choosing cheer, but I definitely have missed dance over the years!

My old jazz shoes (I still have 'em!) clearly have bit the dust/don't fit anymore and I have no "jazz" apparel. Just curious if any of you cheer/dance or have danced before etc. and can give me suggestions on what to buy! I am looking for mostly stores I can visit to try on actual shoes versus ordering offline...also someone told me about jazz socks or something?? I also would love suggestions for what to wear to class! I definitely have a LOT of spandex shorts etc. Are those appropriate? Leotards..Tutu? haha HELP!

That skirt kind of reminds me of one they wore on dance moms:)
I don't know much about dance but I think spandex would be appropriate

PLEASE wear a tutu. :p You'll be fine in spandex. Maybe get a pair of nude convertible or footless tights to wear underneath at the most. Sports bras and spandex and tights seem to be the go to apparel.

Thanks for your response! What are convertible tights?! haha I seriously want to buy a leo just because I can...I mean when I did jazz "back in the day" I wore the appropriate shoes, a leo and spandex shortts or a racerback tank (cheer practice shirt) and soffees with spandex...I usually went straight to cheer from dance- :D It wasn't serious dance though it was just a little studio and we did like two shows.
