buffyyy you just assume im english? and assume im male?
when you see an african-american, than you assume they are poor because of their skincolor?

little advice for life for you: dont judge and comment on people if you dont know anything about them.
It's actually "then" versus "than". "Than" is a comparison. "Then" refers to an order of time. ;) Back to grammar school for you SHARKIE!:sharkchase:

If my girls cell phones ring in the middle of practice I get to answer it. If a text alert goes off I get to read it out loud.

Needless to say, most of my girls silence their before practice. =)

In the past it was my rule and every season that I had one girl, she would tell everyone "She answers phones, they better go on silent!".. now I coach in an environment where I am not the "boss" and well, I got in trouble by the head coach and so I don't answer them, but as soon as one goes off I know who it is b/c they get anxious to answer it, and I tell them it can wait... but answering them solved the problem VERY fast!

Back to cellphones...

I only answered one this year, most of the learned to turn them off. And actually, it was a senior cheerleader who was getting a call from a girl who had graduated but cheered with us the year before. It was a nice little catch up for us. Plus she understood, and was so embarrassed when I said, "Alex is in practice now...she'll have to call you back!" =)

I coach a junior team so obviously texting on the cell phones are a really bad habit.. and they are more addicted to them than most of the high school students. I have a list of every girl on my team with a cell phone and at the beginning of every practice I make each girl put it on the desk infront of our 9 strip floor that I am constantly leaning against while I coach so I can be sure that none of them ever touch them during practices. Then after practice they can come up and get it before they leave.. its been proven so far to be quite effective and the parents love the idea of it.

We van use them for emergincies. or to text our parents. but some girls take andvantage of that and text their friends/ boyfriends...then we all get in trouble...:banghead:

my coach lets us have them but they have to be in are bags and on vibrate or silent .. you can use them if you ask her because sometimes girls have to call there parents for rides home and stuff but it has to be a parent and you have to ask or she wont let you use them..

I know teenagers think it's the end of the world to have their cell phones taken but you will all survive. Every year during High School skills camp and the lock in where the girls have to spend several nights at the gym they must turn their phones into the coach. They get the phones at night for about 10min to make all the calls or text they want and then must turn the phones back into the coach. None of them have died from it although there was one girl who her freshman year she did not turn her phone in and was caught and she had to run 50 laps, she then tempted fate again her sophomore year and got caught yet again resulting in her having to run 100 laps, the next year she turned her phone in :) Phones have no place during practices even for coaches. I agree that if you have so much time to check your phone during breaks then maybe you need to practice harder :)

yep this is the rule in our gym if its important enough for you to do at practice then the whole team should know about it if you get a phone call coach answer it and say so and so at cheer right now we get out at so and so time and hang up if its important you better call the front desk
