Ok for the intermediate all girl division it says you can't release twist to an extended position. Would this be legal: doing a show n go then the cheer extreme toss where the top girl balls and spins herself into the stretch and then dipping to take it to the top. would that be legal since you throw from a squish and catching it in the squish position and not in the extended position?

If you caught her in a squish I think it would be legal. Catching it in a prep would be a little iffy..but I'm no rules expert.

from the reading of the rule, it seems as if you can catch at prep level and below. You can always film the stunt and send it to NCA and they'll flat out say yes or no. But it seems ok if it isnt caught, like I said, prep level or below

I agree. As always though, send a video of the skill and get a definite yes or no.

It has to catch chest or below.. The ball-full up makes it a release twist.. As the rule says, catching it in an extended position is illegal. Catching it chest or below would be legal. Here's where it gets tricky: If you catch it at the top, but don't STOP it at the top (catch high, but absorb to chest or below), it is still be legal that way. However, if you catch at the top and pause before you dip, it will be illegal.
