i feel like it was easier to move up back in the day. I remember when I won, we weren't in the first the first day, we hit perfect both days and all it took was the first place team dropping an extension in the very end of there routine the second day to move us up....this was 2004. and I can't tell you how close the scores were though cause I have no idea.

Deductions used to be worth double or triple what they are now. Instead of one deduction off your pre averaged score, they would take the deduction off each judges scoresheet ( I believe I said that right). So one dropped stunt used to drop you several places. That has mellowed out a small bit.

Oh i see now, I guess thats why I always remember cheersport being the competition were a team with no difficulty could win just because they hit. Of course back then you could be advanced (lvl5) with one full and win places..

That is an attempt to grow the Level 5 competition I believe. And it helps. It really is a nice competition, and with 8 bids seems poised to grow in the Level 5 area.
