I know this is Prodigy's thread but this is killing me. How in the world did Dynasty end up with 4.25 in deductions today? With even 1/2 that many they would have been in first place with a healthy margin. Somebody please explain? Sorry to have to ask, I can't get to the Convention Center until later today.
Dynasty had 2 stunt falls I believe along with some tumbling busts. I was on the team last year at Dallas so its tough seeing them have a hard time. The team still has a lot of talent though and they dont need to win NCA to prove that :)

Yes, I felt really bad for them! But I don't know where you are reading they would have been in first place without the deductions. Even if they hit clean, they only scored a 91.47. Jags scored a 92.15 WITH deductions. And that was just day 2 scores. But coming in 2nd to Jags is not half bad!!!

I read this as
Day Two Jags score was 93.65 - .75 in deductions for a final score of 92.90
Dynasty's score was 95.72 - 4.25 in deductions for a final score of 87.22
Since I haven't done the math to figure out the combined day 1 and day 2 scores, (day one info is gone) I can't see what would have been the end result - and it really doesn't matter at this point.

My question was specifically, "what happened to add up to that many deductions". I wasn't there for that part of the competition. I can't tell by looking at videos. I simply don't know enough to judge what is deductible and that seems like an extraordinarily high number of deductions.

I did not and am not challenging the findings at all, since I am a firm believer in NOT using raw scores to determine 'whatifs'. Being able to execute the routine is what matters. Although I will say it seems to matter less and less at every competition, based on what we have been seeing lately. Jags executed. They won.

Yes mom you are reading this wrong. On Sunday, Jags' raw score was 92.90 and Dynasty's raw score was 91.47 so they were still 1.43 points behind Jags if both teams hit. Jags received .75 deductions that day and Dynasty received 4.25 deductions so that is why they were so much farther behind in the final score.

Thanks, Baby! :)
But as I said, my question wasn't about the score - that was just something I mentioned as a point of reference and a comment on how I interpreted it. It was more about the deductions - why the number was so high. Someone posted in a thread here earlier in the competition that there was one deduction that could be from .5 - 5.0 points. I was curious whether this 4.25 was the sum of a bunch of small deductions or mostly one large deduction?

And where are those pictures from your camera that you keep promising to send me?

On a side note. Am I the only person who saw the point dancer on Prodigy have a total meltdown during and after their performance. He was out of control. F bombs on the floor and walking off the floor. A coach had to restrain him. Totally unacceptable behavior.

They had a stunt fall twice (one was a fall to floor), that should have been 2.5 pts right there. Then there were 4 tumble busts/touches, I believe (each at 0.25-0.5 pts). So, the 4.25 was a sum of small deductions. Disappointing for the kids, for sure, but as uacheerleader0910 said, this team has alot of talent and I see great things for them in the future.

This was the first time competing at NCA for both my girls and I could not be more proud of their performances!! It was such an incredible experience and so exciting for them to make their Dallas debut in the arena! The results may not have turned out quite as they had hoped, but they came away with some fantastic memories and came home with their heads held high. Jags gave two amazing performances this weekend and it was an honor for my girls to compete against them. Congrats, Jags!!

Thank you SO much. This is exactly what I was trying to find out. I couldn't get there on time to see them, nobody I spoke with knew the breakdown. :)

Trust me he feels incredibly bad about it now. He tweeted out an apology to everyone following him. He's very very hard on himself, even though thats no excuse for how he acted. He's a great kid just had a little angry moment.

I understand that he feels bad... But... As a coach who has watched him over the years across different seasons on different teams, never in my wildest thoughts would I have believed he would have had the meltdown on the floor that he did. I showed a complete lack of self control. I was sitting in the coaches section and coaches were appalled. I have been a fan of his for many many years. I feel for any coach who has to control that temper. Passion is understandable and lack is discipline is not. Jmo

He probably is a great kid with great intentions, that was just a very big stage/audience to not be on your best behavior.
