1.stunts that fall then try to get backup and fall again
2. teams that dont say good luck or good job when yoou say it to them
3.getting points off for music cutting off
4.teams that walk on your mat when your warming up
5. teams that point at you
6. dirty looks
7.cheer moms that talk about your team rite behind you
8. coaches that talk about your team to eachother
9.rolling eyes when a team is doing there chants
10.bows falling off on the mat
11.breaking bones because you were trying something stupid and letting your team down
12. watching some one pray that anotheer team falls on stage
13. trippping on the mat
14. walking around with uniform unzipped
15.

I hate when one person on the team completely secludes himself every practice and competition, yet right before we go on the mat he insists on saying the prayer and getting us pumped up...

And people who try to one-up you on everything you do!

when someone on the team thinks they know everything and tries to give advice on something they can't do themselves
my coach can't do a full, but he knows how to teach one. sometimes people just know what they're talking about.

Its also helpful to have somebody else watch it and tell you what they see, even if it's not a coach.

What are some of your cheer pet peeves?
Here are mine...

-When flyers aren't felxible enough to hold the bottom of their foot on a heelstretch, but instead hold their ankle.
-Jumps that have flexed feet and land their legs a mile wide apart.
-Slow tumblers.
-Walking into a competition arena and teams are walking around in their spankys and sports bra.
-Slow award ceremonies.
-Sloppy hair and makeup looks like its been thrown on at the last second.
-When flyers stick their elbows out on full downs/double downs.
-Bad and slow music.
-Not being ready (hair down, makeup not on, uniform off) when you get to the arena.
-Cowboyed out back tucks.
-Girls walking around with their uniform unzipped and skirts unbuttoned after the routine.
-Inconsiderate teams that walk infront of you in the middle of watching someones routine.
-Teams that take forever to get off the warm up mat.

Anyone else have pet peeves that are cheer related? :)

-i hate when people have fly aways, i mean thats what hairspray is for to make your hair look neat, not messy.
-i definately think that the music plays a big part in the energy of a routine and how well the routine looks. if you have bad music the routine just isnt as enjoyable.
-i hate people that walk slow out of priority seating, that really bugs me. its like i would like to see my team before they finish the routine!!

  1. when the event sponsor doesn't put all the team names on the back of the shirt (i.e. lame event shirts)
  2. event shirts that cost $20 or more - don't they know they'd sell so many more if they went down to $15

One of my cheer pet peeves is the focus on things like "is her tan even" or "their makeup sucked." Yes, physical appearance can enhance or take away from a team's overall performance. But are we trying to present this as a sport or not? Come on. If you're obsessing over the perfect tan instead of focussing on landing that tumbling pass or hitting that stunt, you're not doing your team or the image of the sport any favours.

People carrying around giant back packs at packed competitions, running you over with them, and not even saying excuse me........ It seriously makes me want to rip their bag off of them and knock them over with it....... Geeez... Ok, I feel better now..... Hahahaha

If I obsess over my tan it usually means I'm not worrying as much about my skills. Keep my mind occupied by frivolous aesthetics and I'll probably hit that rewind 9 times out of 10 :D

I HATE when teams carry their backpacks onto the stage during awards. It's like, can't you see that there is barely going to be enough room on the stage for all these worlds division teams, I don't want to spend 40 minutes sweating on a crammed stage because you had to bring your huge backpack that's taking up room.
