Problem is we are not a big gym. She would be sent back to a level 2 youth. :(
Oh, man! Maybe that's why they're posting the changes now, I'm betting a lot of people are going to be reconsidering what gym they're cheering with next year for exactly that reason!

The rules for tumbling were obviously made for safety reasons. We can either pitch a fit about it, which wont do anything, or just accept it and enjoy the rest of this year! The rules are implemented for a reason and we have to respect the boards decisions.

I think all the image rules are also beneficial. It will make Cheerleading look better from the outside, with no more bikini sized uniforms and short short butt hanging out bottoms. The board is thinking about how people view Cheerleading and is trying to improve it!

We may not like all the changes, I sure don't. But I respect them! And I know that they are going to prevent lots of injuries and craziness.

Hey USASF, How About you make your certification harder to attain, rather than taking a simple test. Hold the coaches responsible. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. each and every year we have made a significant step forward in recognition of cheerleading as a spot, and now you took 1 giant leap back. SHAME ON YOU. And shame on anyone who supports this. STAND UP coaches and Athletes, and unite. Stay strong, hold your ground. We will overcome this obstacle and show the USASF just made a big mistake. I hear crickets in the milk house already.

The cheerleading industry NEEDS a more in depth coach training process, and without it, a coach should not be allowed to coach a team. Like I've said before, I spent nearly (total) 40 hours just to be certified to coach single flipping elements, no twists, that the hand touches the ground (so basically, fhs, bhs, and fly spring) when coaching gymnastics. I went through different testing, and had to put in 50 hours of coaching at a gymnastics gym between the gymnastics foundations/theory course (8 hour VERY brief course on coaching the easiest gymnastics you could think of and 8 hour day sitting in a chair learning and writing) before I could even go onto learning the level 1 fundamentals of gymnastics and trampoline (multiple 8-10 hour days), and that's level 1... Granted, there are only 2 or 3 different levels of qualification in Ontario Gymnastics' guidelines, but the level 2 stuff is 2-3x the length, and MUCH more involved.
Why, if cheerleaders are throwing many of the similar elements (minus double flipping and triple twisting) does our certification require a couple hours in one day learning about each level, with a written test at the end that (from what I know of the test) anyone with any knowledge at all of cheerleading could pass.

I've never been on or coached a Jr.3 or 4 but to me them combining all girl and co-ed is wrong, freshmen in high school can still be on Jr teams, I feel like it's going to kill J3 and 4 all girl teams that aren't already amazing/above the norm. Now I could be completely wrong and we could see some girls kick butt, but just seems wrong

I find it hard to respect the board's decision when one of the board members has an athlete on their team throwing a double double after having an ankle injury last year and the beginning of this season. If these things are dangerous then those passes would not be in that routine. If standing fulls are dangerous then I expect to see no standing fulls in WCSS's routine at worlds.

I STILL don't get where all these crazy rules came from - the way it was just so randomly thrown out there on facebook. did ANYONE know all of this was coming today?? with so many major changes made wouldnt it make sense to have things voted on?
