I went...it's not that great. I went in 08/09 and it was so underwhelming. You compete one day, and the venue is tiny. Not worth it.
You might have seen me in the early days of our cheer newbie ness.... We were the ones screaming like crazy people in the mini 2 awards when our team finished 8 of 9. We were absolutely excited a) because it was the END of our season and b) we actually beat one team.....which was amazing for that year it hadn't happened anywhere.

Needless to say, The program were with now opened its doors across town a month later and we couldnt get out of that glorified rec program fast enough. After 3 years there my daughter had a round off series back handspring. That's it. And it had to be broken down and retaught as soon as we walked through the doors at our new gym. 2 years later she's got standing tucks and layouts and we actually get to go to legit competitions, like spirit of hope, BATB, and cheersport nationals...rather than competing in every high school gym known to man. Yeah....that was a good move :) plus, my son decided to cheer and joined his sister. the gym we were with before refused to allow boys....stereotyping you know...and they are a "Christian" organization that didn't approve of male cheerleaders. Smh.

I have fond memories of us finals if only because it's the last time we wore that uniform.

You beat me to it. Sorry I just had to laugh at it.:cow:
That seemed kinda rude, but its okay. Its because my rec coach (i cheer for two teams, rec and allstar) said "My friends daughter who cheers on level 2 is going to worlds!!!" (that was 2 years ago) and then newbs on fierceboard are all like "omg my 4.2 team might go to worlds" And IM. SO. LOST. Then i heard on youtube that USASF is allowing 4.2 to go to worlds, and so yea. I was very lost.

I just want to say, i'm not the kind of person that is all desperate to go to worlds. I just want to take my team to the highest level because, well, we need to work! Haha. I feel as if we need something to work for, you know? Its like we're jsut a bunch of nobodys, and want SOMETHING to come good. Please, be nice?

well i think everyone on this board is willing to help you.
dont want you to feel attacked.
its rare that someone doesnt know what level goes to worlds so it kind of threw everyone off
if you have specific questions we would love to help you.
but you should get certified before coaching:)

Getting noticed takes a lot of hard work and dedication (assuming you want to be noticed for being good ;)) Keep pushing yourself and your team, practice hard and put out level appropriate teams. Attend bigger events and compete well, people will notice. However, there are plenty of gyms that aren't nationally known that scare the bejeesus out of me. Being a "name" doesn't guarantee anything. Just remember, with every positive, there will be a negative. Just work hard and keep pushing yourself to be better. Everything else will take care of itself.

The U.S. Finals Cheer and Dance Competitions - Crowning TRUE CHAMPIONS! This is what you are looking for dear...this is "World's" for All Levels. I hope this helps you find what you are searching and working towards. Many people call US Final Destination "Worlds" this probably what you heard when she said "Level 2 is going to World's"!
Yeah maybe! Sorry for kinda sounding clueless, well, i kinda was. lol:) I hope my team and any team will make it to SOME type of worlds:)

Well, the major thing I saw wrong was that they didn't start w/ one foot on the ground.. I just deducted a team a few weeks ago for not.. otherwise, they are pretty clean w/ room to grow.

As for "Worlds" it's levels 5 and 6 only :) Best of Luck!
What quite do you mean "Didn't start with one foot on the ground" (I'm still getting used to new terms... fail)
