All-Star Is It The Judges Fault That There Is No Change At The Top

The answer is no...

I believe the answer, of moving coaches, is YES.

It would not make a team world champs in 2 months or maybe not a year. But if Roger Schonder went from Rays to a lesser known program things would change. First he would tell the coaches of younger teams to teach those kids the proper technique and skills. As those kids come up through the program the SR L5 teams get stronger. It would take several years but it would happen.

Back to the medium coed, if you watch spirits stunt you will also see there was bobble in the one and a half ups (left side) that wasnt counted... so how can it be defined or fix on what exactly it is?
Also, the rest of their routine was off, it was the normal SOT everyone was used too. Jumps, tumbling, etc.
However, GT and T&S had just as much difficulty, IF NOT more especially in tumbling, and they were CLEAN! they were just as clean as spirit. I think they deserve much more credit for being clean. Just because spirit always is doesnt mean other teams cant be just as clean as them either. I just think a lot of the judging in this division was off and it was bias.

Speaking of all this, does anyone have the Large Coed score sheets from finals?

First, let me just say...I have nothing but respect for all the teams that competed in the medium coed division. I am not bashing any team nor am I being a "bitter Betty". It is what it is and can't be changed, however, I was finally able to watch the Medium coed division videos (USASF finally put them up) and can't help but think the judges got it wrong.
The top 4 teams all had difficult elite stunts. But only GT had 8 stunts up AND had 4 groups of COMPLETELY unassisted single based stunts. Yes, there was a bobble with one of the elite stunts, but T&S and South Elite had small bobbles in their stunts. SOT, unfortunately had a stunt come all the way down.
In my opinion, T&S, GT, South Elite and SOT had beautiful jumps, but SOT and SE were just a little off.
I know it has been said on these boards a team CAN win worlds with a dropped stunt. And I believe in the past that may have been possible. But the caliber of Teams and difficulty has been raised. IF WORLDS is about PERFECTION and hitting CLEAN, then dropping a stunt does not make a world champion!
Especially when there were other teams doing the same difficult and elite things and hitting them.
In my opinion, it should have been T&S, GT, SE and SOT in that order.
Yes, I am biased. My son is on GT Platinum. I do not feel they EARNED 4th place, and my heart broke for my team (I am team mom) when they were announced in 4th. I was prepared for 2nd behind T&S, but not 4th.
Once again, I am not bashing SOT or any of the other teams SOT were crowned World Champs and I congratulate them. However, I am still shaking my head...

I don't understand how a smaller named gym (UA in this example) can score so significantly much lower than the bigger name gyms did with a significantly larger amount of tumbling unless there was a HUGE execution difference, which again IMO there was not.

Just throwing this out there, but I'm not sure UA counts as a "smaller named gym" if people are copying its elite stunts and putting its music on Youtube, there are now what, four locations?, has been going to Worlds for years, and is THE big program people know in IL. UA is certainly not on the Cali/Top Gun level, but let's not pretend like UA is a no name program. I'm not sure how much the "big name bias" had to do with how UA scored at Worlds, JMO.

coachlex1019 I definitely agree to what you have to say. However, I think in comparison they were not a division favorite, or up there in the "big name" sense, such as teams like Cheetahs, Cali, Top Gun, and CEA.
