I think a lot of the "hostility" between Hannah and Sammy is mom created. The kids actually look like they get along pretty well and Hannah was more than able to keep up with Sammy.
I completely agreed with what Angel said, Sammy has great technique but NO artistry...as much as Hannah's mom is in denial about her daughter's technique, Sammy's mom is in denial about her daughter's performance capability. Perfect example...during the group dance all the kids were emoting the heck out of it, and Sammy had a fake stage smile....
