Would like to see orange stay small, keep peach as large and have spice work to get a bid to go medium. if this was said sorry, i didnt see it anywhere.
I was thinking the same thing, seems like they should have just made a large all girl and kept Orange and Amber as is/was. Now Spice has to work to get a bid in small senior and wonder if that is likely.

Here's a list of their teams (from what people think they've figured out)..

Ivy - unknown, I just know it's small, so I'm thinking it's Small Junior something.

Grape - Tiny 1
Peppermint - Large Mini 1
Mango - Large Youth 1
Red - Large Youth 2
Black - Large Youth 3
Yellow - Small Youth 4
Gray - Large Junior 2
Scarlet - Large Junior 3
Platinum - Large Junior 4
Green - Small Junior Coed 5
Rose - Large Senior 1
Pink - Small Senior 2
Lime - Large Senior 3
Frost - Large Senior 4
Spice - Large Senior Restricted 5
Orange - Medium Senior 5
Peach - Large Senior 5

Spice is small Sr restricted 5.

I don't think Spice was originally created just to end up going large, and get a paid bid. I think it just gradually got to that point, and they were pleasantly surprised. I think it's apparent that Rays believe in quality over quanity when it comes to their level 5 teams- and maybe this year they truly need the stepping stone, and not just another level 5 team to add to their resume. Just food for thought...I could be completely wrong.

Thanks, I agree.

ding ding ding!

I like to see that Stingray's are switching up the game a little and moving into different divisions. I know this is going to sound weird -- but when Stingrays were United Stingrays in the early 2000s, they had a Large Senior team. All I could remember was their large senior team walking on the floor and the whole arena at the American Open going CRAZY!!!

These were the days of Stingray Large Senior being WAYYYYY better than Stingray Small Senior (just saying).

That was also before the days of standing fulls, standing to double, and when straight up stunts with a double down were standard. haha

Teams have always been chosen on what talent is available. Smoke didn't go away because they wanted to get rid of Smoke... there just weren't any boys. Orange has been consistently small because, in general, the number of level 5 Worlds athletes always seems to work out for a small Orange. This year I think they had around 60 something Worlds athletes and no boys. So... Orange medium and Peach large. There really isn't any running or going after people. They just make the absolute best teams they can with the athletes they have.

I don't think they could have made orange small this year because of the amount of level 5 girls. Making a medium am large would utilize all the world athletes.

What is the level 5 team at the other gym? I don't think that spice will ever go for a bid, it'd be more logical to keep them restricted since small is a huge division.
