Please please please someone in Columbus have an IO4 team (or possibly Houston or San Antonio if I move to either of those places). I think it would be great to be able to come out of of the cheer grave again, but I don't have near level 5 or 6 skills and I don't know if I would really want to try after not cheering for 4 years with some of the stuff I've seen..

We currently are receiving and trying out athletes who would make an Open 4 team (not called international bc it would be a Worlds division) in hopes of creating a competitive team this year. last years exhibition team drew in 40+ athletes and we would love to see it flourish into a division this year.

I would totallllly come back to cheer O4. Why was this not a division or a thought two or three years agooo :)

I see the reasoning behind this division and I really hope that it grows in popularity beacsue I've almost fallen out of my chair cursing watching some of the level 6 teams competing in our area.

The only thing I don't see happening is the disappearance of level 6 teams - too many college cheerleaders come back to do level 6 so they can throw the exciting flipping baskets and 3 high pyramids. We are talking about putting together a level 6 team here and I know that a level 4 team would never fly with the people that are coming back to compete on it. I think they'd rather be a crappy level 6 team with bad tumbling than be on a O4 team. Granted, we don't have any competition up here and would be exhibitioning until we went to Nationals in Vegas or Cali and have no plans of going to Worlds.

I was on HotCheer's io4 last year, we never actually competed we just exhibitioned at a couple local comps and also at Jamfest Indy. I don't know if it is gonna be a real division this year, but I am pretty sure HotCheer will have the team again regardless.

We are! Tryout are in August =)

HotCheer will have be having an O4 either as an exhibition team (same as last year) or a competition team, depending on the approved divisions. Competition or not, the team was a huge success for us last year offering the possibility for many athletes to safely and enjoyably enter our sport once again.

More info about this team will be released this summer :)

I talked to a guy from Top Gun at Indy, and he said that their O4 was getting their choreo together and starting their team. We had one at Hotcheer, it was really fun! We were just an exhibition team, did local comps, and Indy. It would be so cool if other local gyms around HC had this team at their gym =)

US Spirit in March

They only practiced once a week this year and we didn't feel the need to cut athletes on an exhibition team so that's why you see the number of people out on the floor that you do.

Some of the conditions I remember when and if they pass the division are that:

-It would definitely NOT be a Worlds division (Nor do I think it should be)
-It would be ages 17+ to discourage those looking to just take entire senior teams up a division or trying to stack their own team.
