So heres wht I would love to see happen in the near future
Open 4:
A division for athletes who've aged out of Senior eligibility who do not possess advanced tumbling and stunting skill. Scored similarly to the way the L4 is across the board throughout the majority of Varsity score sheet comps and not a Worlds division.
International 5:
I really would like to see this division reflect the majority of teams in the United States. Who ends up on i5's? A majority of elite tumblers who have trained and worked for YEARS on the skills they have for the Worlds score sheets to not reflect it.
International 6:
This division in my opinion is an answer to my above issue with L5 Tumbling and those who feel the rest of the World can't keep up with the US and tumbling. Lower the tumbling value of this division and put the emphasis on the building skills (The way the current Worlds sheets reflect). Teams out side the US that don't have access to tumbling and gym equipment in theory should be focusing on building skills and thus do great in this division.
In short...why not offer something for everyone?
O4 for those whose skills are intermediate
i5 a well rounded division that rewards tumbling, stunting and choreo (which is what I think US Cheerleading should reflect)
i6 a divison that focuses more on stunting as a means to level the international playing field.
I'd even go as far to say that i6 should keep the current percentages taken from US trials, to Semi-Finals and Finals to keep it fair but in that same respect I'd want to see more US i5 teams pass through to finals.
What do you guys Think???
RulesGuy (Im tagging you in hope to spark some convo and ideas)
