If they average 8 teams an hour (let us say 9 to be fair) they could do 3 divisions medal winners. Being as there are 10 divisions it would take 3 1/2 to show the 30 teams everyone wants to see. So, if they are only willing to pay for 2 hours how do you expect them to divide it up and do everything?

i think everyone agrees that they can't show everything, but there has to be a better way than what they did. heck, i would be happy seeing just a clip of each winning team. maybe show a part of each winner, then after each division just list the top ten.

There has to be a better way for who? For us?????

ESPN is in the business of showing sports for the purpose of selling TV ad time and therefore making money. Not making Varsity or the FierceBoard happy

ETA: I am not attacking you our your post, per se. I just think it strikes to the heart of what people are getting emotional about. IMO we need to accept what we don't have control over and work on positive solutions to the things we do have control over.

Except these aren't there to make money. Completely different.

Are you alluding to your ads? I wasn't trying to compare the two. I hope it didn't come across that way.

No I mean the competition shows. They are paid to be put on TV.

Interesting, I didn't know that. We can talk offline, though again. . .nothing would surprise me.

I still believe that ESPN is a big enough company that they won't ruin their brand to put any competition show on regardless of who is paying for it. This isn't a 2am infomercial, it's in the middle of the day.

They haven't shown Large Coed since 2008 I'm over it. It's complete B.S and they say they rotate divisions! Over the USASF and Varsity you really cant blame ESPN cause they don't choose who is shown, but its really interesting to me lol. oh well done venting :)

On ESPNU. If they showed the competition on Saturday during football season I might put a little more credence to that.

I think they should show the winners from each division in an hour. That is it. People can complain all they want then BUT that will be the prise for winning. You get to be on TV.

I really wish there was some way we could find out the percentage of people who watch the show that aren't affiliated with cheer in any way. While I know that its not realistic to do such a thing, i'd be very interested. I just can't bring myself to believe there are very many, if any at all. It's on at 9/10AM on a saturday/sunday morning. Many are sleeping/working/going to church at that time. Plus its on an obscure ESPN channel that some don't even have. And as awful as it may sound, I feel like this is type of thing that needs to be catered to the people who actually care.

I think i'm done now. Not sure why but this whole issue is just something that seriously irks me every year.

I don't need them to use our lingo. I would like for them to speak in a way that is logical and thought out properly. Amanda sounded decent when she was on the CBS broadcast for NCA. I don't know what it is about the Worlds one where she sounds crazy. Different script writers perhaps?

I just watched it again didn't think Amy or Amanda were wrong about anything. I enjoy their comments actually

Every year it's the exact same thing. Everyone on here bashes the announcers, teams, varsity and USASF.

The reality is, the announcers are far more experienced than anyone on this board.

Amy and Amanda could be talking about how this team "was the tea" or how so and so "gives them life" maybe they might "cry" or they might even be "DEAD".
Doing so would make the 300 regular posters on here extremely happy, but, the rest of the TV watching world would be lost and most likely disgusted

And, this is what I know about USASF/Varsity -- they put on an event that YOU have to be in attendance. So much so, they have to shut down the place because of overcrowding.

So, I invite all of the complainers to not accept your paid bid, don't go watch, and don't watch the tv coverage. I'm sure you'll be a much happier camper.
Sitting or speaking on this forum really is not going to do anything anyway.....:( I always enjoy reading everything on this subject anyway! I would have Loved to have seen some of the Top teams in the country: no need to list, we all know who they are anyway! What do we the public; Coaches, Choreographers, Directors, Producers, Parents and most importantly the kids who are Competing going to do???? I don't think any of us have any influence over what is to be shown anyway..?? I am ever so Thankful that I have been able to watch Worlds Live for the Last 7 years nevertheless anyway, so I am excited for that!!! Not excited that teams who have won Gold medals regardless of division, didn't get any coverage at all, that just Saddens me!!!!! So what shall we do folks, start a letter writing campaign>??????:fro: Chances are the show--and I mean 100%%% will be the same thing we saw today, but certainly will be watching the first 5 mins anyway!!!!! Cheers Ya'll!!!!
