The Champions Cup is a new, exciting competition that will take place next summer.

The event will be held in July of 2013 and is expected to be become one of the largest cheerleading and dance competition in the United States.

The Champio...ns Cup is anticipating over 151,000 competitors from all 50 states. The competitors will be comprised of athletes from scholastic cheerleading and dance as well as all-star cheerleading and dance that represent their respective states.

This event will give athletes and coaches an opportunity to work together by coming together from their respective gyms and schools. Gymnastics components that have recently been disallowed from competition will be allowed for the summer of 2013.

Each state could have up to 72 plus teams all competing for bragging rights. Video submissions for teams and placement will begin in June. In addition to the competition, there will also be a two day recruiting cheer and dance combine/intensive in which The Cheerleading Agency will be awarding scholarship money to both cheer and dance athletes.

I am curious about this "Gymnastics components that have recently been disallowed from competition will be allowed for the summer of 2013" & I am also curious what their rules will be in regards to the age grid & other rules changes ............

That is true. :( I just liked the option to keep the old rules.

the point is to form teams from each state to compete against each other.

So it wouldn't be school teams, but high school kids throughout the state forming an NC team to compete against the NJ team (and all others)

Same for Junior3, Youth 4 etc. made up of the best kids throughout the state. This is how Soccer and Hockey and other sports form state teams to compete and eventually form the National team or compete for Junior Olympic trials.

It's also not affiliated with any big event production company or specific to just All Star

Seeing as GA High School rules don't allow you to compete outside of the State of GA I know they would be out!

You're would not be competing as part of your school, this would be individuals competing on a state team so it should not violate any state school competition rules.

I know in Illinois we are not allowed to compete on anything but our High school teams. You cannot legally do both allstar and high school. Do you know if this would be allowed since its through the state?

There's plenty of ways to get around that rule though, I know many people that compete both. No one has caught yet sadly, we really need a better national system IMO

You won't be competing for a gym or for a specific school. Each state will have the opportunity to form teams of kids performing either high school style or All Star style routines.

It would depend on your individual state requirements but you it should technically not violate rules to not compete on School and All Star teams.

Ideally this would be a true National competition with teams from each state competing against each other. There could be 50 teams in every division!

So who would form the teams?
