I feel like they already have a team set regardless of the performances at trials.

ETA: Marta has a team set.

I'm hardly surprised by who they took. Despite how she did this weekend- this is the FIRST competition Nastia's competed bars at in 3 years, and quite frankly she could only get better. If my endurance can go from nothing to pretty athletic in 3 weeks, I have no doubt she can pull something off in that time if she wants to. Bridget Sloan and ASac BOTH had strong showings, and all things considered they'd be silly not to take Maroney's petition. Bross had a VERY redeeming show on bars, where truthfully we'd need her (despite her awful beam). I know they say Marta wants all-arounders, and I'm sure she does, Aly's gonna NEED to clean up her routines or they will get smacked by the judges in London, solid or no.

All is well....skirted right around us but looks and sounds pretty bad in the distance.

It's supposed to head in my direction, wind is starting to pick up, clouds rolling in. Hope it blows over....feeling a little like Dorothy in Kansas right now.

Bummed that I missed this. I managed to catch a couple YouTube videos from Day 1 and was hoping to watch finals live today.

Sorry to hear that Bross is having trouble with that beam dismount... I've got a soft spot for her, ever since I witnessed the vault where she injured herself. ...Then again, I've got a soft spot for anyone who gets injured and tries a comeback. (ASac's been doing pretty great; I'm happy for her.)

Also bummed that McKayla got injured, though I'm glad she's alright and still moving onto Trials. I think she's one of my favorites.

Was kind of rooting for Gabby to take it today. Like someone else mentioned up thread, Jordyn Wieber rubs me the wrong way. (Though she's super talented.)

Yeah, we're just getting it here in Central NJ and it's pretty nasty so far. My dog's already under the dresser. :p

Predictions:

Aly Raisman
Jordyn Weiber
Gabby Douglas
McKayla Maroney

They need someone great on bars:
Rebecca Bross
Nastia Liukin
Anna Li (her score today was 15.99) that's the kind of score they need on this event.

Alternates:
Alicia Sacramone
^ some above

Although Kyla placed well and was consistent this weekend she doesn't have the experience and Marta probably doesn't trust she can handle the pressure a national competition vs the Olympics is much different.. She's too inexperienced to have a spot (JMO)
