If two gyms come together to make ONE team and put both gyms athletes onto this one team, how does gym memberships work? Are there then not allowed to be any crossovers, or how would this situation even work out?

hmm...if it's just the one team that are combined the kids could probably cross to either gym but not both. But that's just a guess on my part.

That is what I was thinking. Two local gyms are doing this, and I was confused as to how you could go about doing this. Anyone else..?

i would think the athlete would just pay there gym membership as usual. not sure though. what an odd situation

That's really confusing. Because which gym is the team entering as? I would say that based on the rule you cannot compete at two gyms some athletes would be in trouble. Ie: Gym A and Gym B form to make Team AB. Gym A enters Team AB in event and registers the athletes. So what happens to the athletes from AB entered from Gym A but also cheering on another team at Gym B?

And more importantly...would the EP even notice?

It's my understanding that a team in Australia did this at our Nationals last year to compete for a Worlds Bid. They just smooshed their names together as the "team name" - Zoo Athletics and Brisbane Tigers became "Zoo Athletics Brisbane Tigers" (or something along those lines) haha. The team was made up of athletes from both those gyms.

they are a team trying to attend Worlds. I am just confused on what loophole they found to do this.

There have been a lot of teams do this. I know of a few gyms in New England who have tried it (not always successfully) and isn't Fierce and OC doing this?

are they sharing the same gym space or are they from two different locations?
they're from two different locations, but their joint website especially for this teams says "Alternating Sunday's at each facility with provided professional transportation."

these are 2 separate facilities that are combining just their level 5's. the level 5 team will be called and registered as "THAT team" but they are advertising that athletes can still compete with whatever "home" gym they choose if they would like. how is this possible?
