Curious as to how many people have read "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer, as now a movie is being made of it. I feel like a visual representation of the book is going to be extremely difficult to pull off, as so much of it deals with things inside Wanderer's mind. Thoughts?

I read it! At least, I think I finished it... I don't really remember as it was in 8th grade :p I really liked it and am curious as how they will bring it to the big screen.

I thought I had read all of Emily Giffin's books, but noticed an older one I overlooked. It was called Heart of the Matter. It wasn't as fun and peppy as her books normally are, but it was really, really good. It was very real world and I loved the characters. I'd highly recommend it!!

I loved that book...Its actually her most recent one (excluding the new release this July)

there's a series called "House of Night". They're by a mother-daughter duo, PC Cast & Kristen Cast. They're SO good. But it's lengthy. I've been reading them since 7th grade (now going into 11th), and I get the new books as soon as they come out, and I think the newest one might be book 10.
Another series is the "Fallen" series. They're by Lauren Kate. it's about a group of fallen angels and this girl who reincarnates because of her love for this guy. They're SO good. And there's only like 4 or 5 of them.
both these sound cheesy, but they're honestly some of the best I've ever read! and hunger games is also amazing :)
I'll recommend both of these too!
As well as
The Mortal Instrument Series by Cassandra Clare
Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick

I have read it. Once I got past the first few chapters, I really really enjoyed it. I have NO idea how this will translate into a movie, but will probably go see it anyway. I think its one book that will require massive changes in order to make the movie switch.

I'll never not recommend The Kite Runner. Sad, couple graphic scenes, then really sad, but really good. One of my all-time favorites.

Just finished the two books in the Divergent series in under 48 hours. Warning: the second book leaves of in a major cliff hanger and I don't even know when the next one comes out. Dying here.

As far as Nicholas Sparks goes, I haven't read all of his books and I don't really care to. The Last Song was amazing. Way better than the movie. The Choice was really good, too. Kinda had a "The Notebook" vibe, but I never read The Notebook so...

I stocked up my iPod (turned into a makeshift Kindle) with a bunch of titles the other day. Think I'll start The Book Thief next...

I LOVED THE BOOK THIEF. I had to read it for a class and I read it faster than we were assigned. Couldn't put it down. The beginning is a little slow and kind of weird based on who the "narrarator" is but it gets pretty goood. not for everyone because of the subject material but i loved it.

Divergent by Veronica Roth and the sequel Insurgent are fantastic. I highly recommend them! All of the John Green books are great as well. I just finished The Fault in our Stars and cried a lot but loved the book. Have you been on the website goodreads.com? That's where I find a lot of good book reviews and stuff
My 13 year old had this on her nook and I just finished reading it because I was boared and surprisingly, I found it very good and entertaining.

Okay, I'm showing my age here :) but I have read all 6 books in The Earth's Childern series by Jean Aeul (Auel)....not sure of the spelling....but they are really good.

I totally agree. I read it a couple of summers ago and just re-read it again last week. I'm curious to see how they pull this off. Any idea when the movie is supposed to come out? All IMBD says is 2013 :/

If you are looking for some easy light beach type reads, I actually still like the gossip girl series (there are quite a few and are kinda mindless, you can read the entire thing pretty quickly) and the Summer Series by Katherine Applegate.

It was mentioned earlier briefly but Chelsea Handler's books - Are you there vodka, it's me Chelsea and My horizontal life: a collection of one night stands are probably two of the funniest books I have ever read ever (and I read alot!).

I was also just recommended by one of my athletes parents to read Confessions of a Scary Mommy written by Jill Smokler. I'm not, or anywhere near, a parent but she even said that it would be interesting for me as a young twenty-something.

And of course the ever popular Fierce Board Chronicles are a popular one for all ages. Typically tends to be in the drama, suspense, or non-fiction genre but always has something to entertain the reader ;)

I can honestly say though that I spend more time some weeks reading fierceboard threads than regular books....
