Based in WA though. They are holding a nationals this year. Stars and Stripes in September. They do heaps of work with ATC - All Things Cheer, from the states.

Heading down to Geelong tonight for Winterfest my club is stay there for the weekend so we don't have to travel back and fourth. Very exciting to be competing!
I'm Sure BowCat will let you guys know the results of the ACG teams

Just letting y'all know that Caitlin's stunt group were amazing. So proud of them. First cheer comp ever for two of the girls but the nerves didn't show. Couldn't have wished for a cleaner, calmer or more perfect performance :D

BowCat you all girl level 3 stunt group were AMAZING!! They looked so solid, and you would have no idea they were so new to the sport!

Well done to everyone at the comp yesterday, I thought the standard was a lot higher this year. I LOVED seeing how close the level 4 and 5 teams were this year, and so many new teams in general which is awesome.

Also super proud of my team for overcoming so many injuries and last minute changes to get 1st in senior level 2, and highest scoring level 2 routine for the whole day! We were so shocked and happy! :)

It looks a lot like AusCheer is going to die off, the competitions haven't improved much over the years and Nationals last year wasn't really worth it, small turnout and the location wasn't so great. Not too many interstate teams there either. :(

I was soooo so proud of them! And you looked amazing, DU are looking strong this year, well done honey boo!

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm in the US and have two kids that are all-stars. We are looking at a relocation to Sydney. What is your competition season down under? Ours is Dec-April, so we are skill building in the off season right now. But it sounds like you guys are just ramping up your competition season?

And if anyone wants to PM me with names of gyms in Sydney (preferably North Shore), I'd be much obliged! :)

Thanks to flipmac and nat-ak for getting back so quick.

Can someone also explain about the stunt group thing? In the US, we are moving away from pom, individuals and I've never even seen a category for group stunt. Is that where you take a stunt group and build a routine just for them? Is it all stunting, no tumble/dance/jumps? What's the time length on it? 2:30 or shorter? And is this pretty popular? My girl is a flyer, so of course she's bugging me for info on this. ;)

Hi StarsMom, The stunt group category is pretty popular here in Australia, it is 1 minute long comprised of just stunting.
There is no tumble needed but can be used as a transition or inversion into a stunt. Dance and jumps again unnecessary but can be used for creative purposes.
Since a stunt group has only a minute to squeeze everything in order to check off everything on the judges score sheet you'd be surprised how much you can get in within that time. hope that helps :)
