Agreed, but it's for a persuasive paper so I don't have to address the opposition and I am having a hard time finding just allstar cheer being discussed rather than "cheerleading" or "collegiate cheerleading" or all lumped together.

Actually, people are much more persuasive in their arguments if they DO address the opposition's arguments and subsequently point out the flaws in the disagreement. It's likely people are going to want to challenge what you say, but by predicting those challenges and responding to them effectively, your argument becomes that much better.

EDIT: just saw your post about doing it for the argumentative essay, which works too. I've heard some people claim that in a real sport, the other challengers need to be able to directly influence the outcome. In a performance sport like cheer, there's nothing the other team can do to their opponents to increase their chances of winning. You should obviously be able to poke holes in this argument just based off of other recognized sports like gymnastics, but it's an argument people still like to throw out there nonetheless.

PS. I have no doubt that this may get taken off the boards lol. Given fierceboards may have sold out to Varsity as well lol (But if not, then BRAVO FIERCEBOARDS!!!!) Let's see what happens, shall we :)

I think some people may like a heads up on all the language...the video was informative, but also kind of annoying IMO.
I also doubt it would be a good source to use for a school paper! So maybe it would better suit a different thread, or under the Industry Discussion if it hasn't already been posted there.

If it does get removed, it would get removed because of language, as we have a lot of minors on the boards. Most posters here actually support when Varsity has competition, as it only betters things for gyms and athletes (examples: GK vs. Varsity for uniforms, Jamfest vs. Varsity for competitions).

Understood... My apologies ladies and gents... Although bluntly truthful, Pen and Teller can be pretty vulgar in general. **not suitable for kids 13 years of age or younger**
