Drills with water bottles or hand weights. Makes motions stronger. Also, you can watch Clay County, Perry County, and Houston, from high school nationals 2012! Best examples of sharp and clean!

Hit drills! :) Make them hold each move. It hurts, but it's worth it! For each move that they don't hit in a cheer or routine, make them condition for it.

All of the drills mentioned above are great!
Another way to see huge improvements is to build up arm strength and muscle memory by holding motions for 10-15 minutes. The time spent is well worth it.

I usually would have my athletes standing clean on lines and halves arms squeezed by their sides, count 567 clap on 8, hit low v on 1 and hold. I walk around to each person as theyre holding the motion and correct their placement/wrists, and hit their arms with my palm. Once I knock their arms out of place it shows them how tight they WEREN'T. After I've critically inspected every person on the team. I start from 5, they clap on 8 from the low V and hit a 'T' on 1... and hold. Walk around again and repeat the same thing. By this point their arms are tired and I guarantee they'll start whining but don't give in, this is where they start gaining muscle memory and toning up the muscles in their arms that are needed to have sharp motions.

Start from 5 again, clap on 8, highV on 1 and hold. By this point their arms are starting to burn (Which is fantastic). Repeat like before and now you're done.

If anyone drops their arms at ANY point during this workout I start over. Zero tolerance really teaches kids to follow directions.
