it was tough thats for sure. Once my team last season started practicing 3 times a week it got harder, but school comes first! I believe its only really hard if you go to a large gym that has a lot of practices. But it is POSSIBLE.

Best advice I can give you is, to be up front and honest with your coach when things get hard or when you have a test to study for or a lab. They understand, but don't wait till the last minute!

SO. FREAKING. LUCKY. I love you though! The way my birthday falls I could've been a high school senior this past year if I had stayed in California but I was a junior and if I want to cheer next year I'd have to do an open team or college team.

haha love you too:) my birthday is in the middle of september & with the cut off date in august i just pass it! so next season i'll be 17 during the cut off date & 18 the next cut off date! it's weird having a late birthday though since as you know i'll be a senior but i'm still 16!

I super seniored last year and super super senioring again this year and I learned how to really balance out cheer, school, and a part time job by routing my school schedule just right to get the hours i need for work and cheer. As time goes by you get used to the schedule and you find ways to make it even better. Good luck to you with this year! Hope you do well at school and on the comp floor!

This might sound lame but also think about who you're cheering with. You won't have as much in common with everyone. I'm personally choosing not to super senior (even though I have been encouraged to by my old coaches many, many times) but I can already see that I'm just leading a different life than the people I cheered with a couple months ago. I just don't know if it would be AS enjoyable for you if you were with a group of kids were at drivers ed the same night you were studying for exams finals or going out to parties. I know you really just want another season (believe me, I do too) but I would also want to have the most fun with your teammates and I don't know if that's possible when you're leading two completely different lives. Just a thought..

TIME MANAGEMENT. My roommate is a current super senior. Get yourself a good planner and write out your schedules, practice times, test dates, assignments, etc. It's so much easier to see everything written out.

I thought this thread was about FAME ;)
When I was about 10 or something, I saw an article in American Cheerleader about being a super senior and never really understood it, but then I saw Fame Super Seniors and thought they were all "Super Seniors" and only the gyms who had the team Super Seniors meant that they were all "Super Seniors"....
Ahh... the pre all-star world knowledge days

I had to make the same decision, and I picked college. I love all star cheer, and having to decide between the two tore me. Time management will be an issue, no matter which you choose, but I just feel like with all star, you either have your cheer life or your school life. Cheering in school (finally) combines my two worlds together, and I'll have friends at school that 'get it' when I can't go out due to practice, because these friends will include my teammates. I guess it also depends on your team, but what would've been my team is a relatively young team...and there are just certain things you cannot talk to someone in middle school about.

I've never cheered outside of all star before, but I can't wait to fall in love with it.
